If you want a good laugh, go see this movie! The first few minutes are a bit slow, but of course, it's leading up the to plot line.

I found Steve Carol's Maxwell extremely funny and of course Anne Hataway and The Rock had good lines too. James Caan was the president of United States.

Though the TV series aired before my time, I remember seeing repeats here and there and I think at one point, there was a TV movie. The only difference is this movie is set in modern time with the language to boot. Just be warned, you see Steve Carol's butt near the end.

There's a double agent, who I guessed, despite the muffled voice.

At one point, Steve Carol breaks out the original "gadgets" from the TV show.

Oh the movie had an apropriate song on the Ryan Seacrest Show dedicated to Maxwell Smart. "Four Minutes to Save the World".

Hey TV.comers!

It's that time of year again. I'm heading north, to my parents' country place, so try not to miss me too much, since I'll only be gone a few days at a time.

I hope everyone had a great Canada Day and Fourth of July. I know I enjoyed Canada Day this year, because I once again go to spend it with my cousins who now 14 & 15. It's been seven years since I last saw them, since they in Ontario, about seven hours away (they're finally teenagers!).

I've posted more info under the editors' special circumstances, so that the staff knows why I'm not around as much. It'll only be for two months and then back to normal, just in time for school

Ciao, and enjoy your summer! Don't worry, I'll still be blogging, movies, movies, movies!

Summer Storm - June 2008 by robinepowell

Turns out that hot humid weekend turned into four days, lol and ended yesterday with a pretty big storm. Winds of 110 km/ph, which blew in through our windows and brought thunder and lightening. It managed to bring down a few branch in our yard, but nothing major for us except the power went out around 2:30 yesterday afternoon other areas too) and didn't return until sometime after midnight.

I don't know exactly when it returned since I left for work around 10:30 last night. The Champlain Bridge, which is a main route to into Montreal, was closed for about three hours yesterday, during rush hour no less, due to the fact that there were several big trucks turned over. I looked at the paper last night, for mention of the storm, since it was too bad around my neighbourhood. Someone's Mercedes E320 had a huge branch smashed right through the back window of the car. Some people thought it was a Tornado, since it was so extreme. The windy/blowing part lasted maybe fifteen minutes in total, though the rain, thunder and lightening, were of course longer then that.

My mother was at Super C waiting in line to go through the cash, which didn't work even with the emergency generator. She could see outside what looked like to be toilet paper, which when she went outside after the storm, was nowhere to be seen, lol! I said to her maybe it was one of those Johnny on the Spots, since there's always construction going on.

The only good thing to come out of it was no one died or was seriously hurt epsecialy, since Enviroment Canada had apparently issued weather warnings (I didn't know about until today's paper), so everyone was prepared, to a certain degree.

Here's a tip for when the power goes out for a long period of time and it's getting dark out. Get a 12 volt battery (one for a car) and get some small bulbs that are meant for tailights of a car. Get some wires with clips (jumper cables stlye) and stick them to the battery. The other end for the light bulb and you have light. Though ours have switches, like a regular light switch.

First Hot Weekeend for June 2008!! by robinepowell

Finally we have some HOT weather, lol!

I don't know how to convert to Fereinheit, but for Canucks it's 30 degrees Celcius out both Saturday and Sunday with lots of Sun. Though sometime later on Sunday there's supposed to be rain and thunder showers. That's all right, it'll cool things down.

Of course it's back to rain Monday and Tuesday and it might be clearing up by Wednesday. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it rained again later this week or next weekend.

April showers came in the month of May and will probably last though June. This is the year of mosquitoes and black flies.

Thankfully black fly season only lasts about a month and I don't have to worry about them since they're up at our country place and unlike my parents, I don't go up there until July and August.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by robinepowell

Yes, I admit I was curious to see how well this movie did, since it's been 19 years since the last movie, Last Crusade, which is still my favourite for one reason; Sean Connery.

Indiana has moved up the scholastic ladder. He's now a professor at a University part-time and the end of the movie, he's been made assistant Dean.

The movie tells us what happened to Indiana's dad and Denholm Elliott who played Marcus Brody, both were in The Last Crusade. Ties up the loose ends for us Sean Connery fans.

I really enjoyed the movie and though I never saw the first one with Karen Allen, I do know who she is and I'm glad to see she's making a bit of comeback. The interaction between her, Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf is funny to watch, whether it's the three of them or two of them. I laughed at the fact that Indiana is apparently afraid of snakes, hehe.

There's a point in the movie where Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) reveals something to Indy, as she calls him, when she thinks she's dying. Of course it freaked him out, which is what happens in the movies and TV but I had a feeling I knew what this "secret" was before she told him.

I enjoyed "Mutt" whose sense of adventure matches Indiana's, though the only difference is he's into knives and motorcycles and is a high school dropout.

My favourite part of the movie is the car chase scene through the library with all the university students watching their professer crash into the furniture with what's known as a "greaser" (Mutt) due to the fact that he keeps his hair slicked back.

The final scene of the movie goes like this. The doors open, Indiana's hat blows in and stops at Mutt's feet. He picks the hat up and goes to put it on, but Indiana grabs it from Mutt and puts it on his own head. A possible hint for another movie or two.

Prince Caspian by robinepowell

I was it earlier today and it is a great continuation in the Narnia storyline.

The critics said it was a bit darker and while that's true, I didn't mind it. It wasn't like anything tragic hapened, unless you count the fact that Peter and Susan won't be back.

I liked it better the original made for TV movie, made almost twenty years ago. Less "wishy washy" I guess you could say.

Funny to watch Peter and Caspian butt heads, hehe and then Caspian and Susan giving each other "looks", throughout the movie.

I can't wait to see how well they Voyage of the Dawn Treader with cousin Eustace, assuming they bring him in. Unlike the first set of movies, the kids aren't going their seperate ways. The original movies, Peter went back to school, Susan off to the States, Edmund and Lucy off to visit their horrible Eustace.

Now I'm counting down until May 2010, which is when the next Narnia movie is supposed to be out.

A couple of days ago, I finally managed to get up to level 63 aka "Browncoat". Anyone care to tell me what show/movie that's from? It's not something I've heard of before.

I've also recently became editor of Jamie Lynn Spears, only a few weeks of being T.U. for her (after promising the editor I wouldn't take over the guide) and this last editor hasn't been M.I.A. so I don't know why they've been retired from other their guides.

Yesterday I became editor of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, formerly of I think the second season of Survivor and currently co-host of The View. I seem to be collecting people, lol! Not that I'm complaining.

Editorships/Trusted User - April 6, 2008 by robinepowell

It's been a few weeks since my last blog, since it's not my thing, kind of up there with school compostions. I'm not good at expressing myself in writing, I'm better verbally. I'm more of talker, lol!

Anyhooo, onto the subject I'm blogging about, updating my fellow TV.comers on what I'm editor and T.U. of in the past little while. As of last week I became editor of Gilmore Girls, much to my surprise. Apparently the last editor hasn't been online since February 20th. I've also accquired Alyssa Milano, Aaron Spelling and Marlee Matlin. (no surprises there). Then there's Brian Krause and LeBron James, two people that I didn't know I had enough points to become editor of.

It's suprising how many people leave TV.com but don't retire from their guides themselves, instead they are reported M.I.A. after a months's time and given two notices, the the staff retires them. Wouldn't be easier just to retire yourself in advance?

Over the past few months I have become T.U. for Jennie Garth, Jason Priestly and Jamie-Lynn Spears. More recently I was granted T.U. for Charmed, something I've been wanting for a very long time. Two reasons it came to happen now. The editor, Kristhetvgirl2, has a new home computer which gives her logging in problems (see her blogs on the problems). Alyssa and Holly are only credited for one episode as Producers for Charmed, even though they were they held that role for three seasons. So I'm going to add these ladies to every single episode from Season 5 onwards and Kris won't have to worry about her queue being clogged up with my submissions.

Thanks Kris for making me T.U. and thanks to the other editors for making me T.U. for their person guides, it's very much appreciated.

Once again it's that time of year, though a bit early. Happy Easter to all of my fellow TV.comers, wether you celebrate the holiday or not.

The Jewish people are smart, they have Passover at the end of April, lol. I have to say I was surprised when I looked at the calender and found Easter in the third week of March this year. I know it's landed at the end of March before but usually the last weekend.

We'll be having our usual Turkey & Stuffing on Easter Monday, can't wait.
Co-worker and Melissa Joan Hart Baby Updates by robinepowell

I wanted to wait until I had news on M.J.H. before posting an update.

Co-worker went into the hospital Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27th to be induced. She ended up having her baby by C-section on Sunday March 2nd at around 2:00am. Katie weighed in at 8lbs 8oz. Why the doctor waited so long to due a C-section I don't but that's one baby who didn't want come out. As I mentioned before the due date was Feb. 18th.

After 10 hours of labour, Melissa Joan Hart gave birth to her second baby boy Braydon "Brady" Hart Wilkerson on March 12, 2008 weighing in at 7lbs 3oz. He joins big brother Mason Walter Wilkerson whose birthday is January 11, 2006.

Congrats to both of them. http://www.celebrity-babies.com/2008/03/melissa-joan-ha.html
