Top 5 Changes by Sherasbear

Well, I participated in the blackout yesterday. I only came to this board to logout b/c I had forgotten to do it the night before. I kind of felt lost in my work day when I wasn't on here and perusing the site. But in reality, it hasn't been the same since the redesign took place. When it was a daily occurence and sometimes obsession to sign in and submit and post in blogs and forums, is now a hassle at times and I miss the old way. So in a way to hopefully help, here are my five suggestions for change.

1. The white background has GOT to go! It really does hurt the eyes!

2. I would like to see more entries in the blog post area. I don't want to see so few. I like to keep up to date with my friends.

3. After you've submitted, it doesn't give you the option to go back to the person or episode you were editing. Backtracking is annoying.

4. The cast/crew thing still needs to be fixed.

5. In general, the whole first summary of a show page is horrible. It just doesn't look good. I want the old design back!!!

I know this has been hard on everyone, but I hope that we will all continue to submit! I hope to get back on track soon!

That's right, it's the big 3-1!!! Now officially in my 30's! I'm going to try to embrace it and live it up! I really can't complain about my life, I have a lot of fun and I'm still young!

Last weekend was so much fun camping! So much fun that I ended up with a cold I'm finally getting over that now. Here's a pic of me and my girls (i'm the second from the left):

We had great weather and I couldn't have asked for a better time!

Tomorrow night we celebrate my bday with a dinner for 10 at a restaurant called the Melting Pot, which is my fave! It's a fondue restaurant and it's soooo good! After dinner, we'll head over to our favorite neighborhood bar for some drinks! Looking forward to a good time!

As for tv.com, the redesign still has everyone up in arms! It still sucks but I finally started submitting again. There is a boycott day scheduled next week on the 30th that I will probably join and not log in. In other news, a while back I picked up a new show editorship: Unwrapped which is an awesome show on Food Network hosted by Marc Summers, who I used to know as the host of Double Dare.

This new design is annoying, I won't go into it too long because everyone feels the same way about it! I'm having to do my blog on gamespot b/c tv.com won't let me blog.

I will be away for the weekend which is probably a good thing since this site is acting horrible right now!

For those that have submitted, your submissions are still there, I just can't moderate them. Hopefully I will be able to after the weekend!

Heading to an amusement park, Kings Dominion, in Virginia this weekend. We camp out Friday and Saturday nights and this is an annual tradition with me and my friends. This will be the fourth year! Can't wait!

In my time here, I have never really gone off on a tangent or vented or really gone into my life outside of tv.com, with a few exceptions, but today I'm feeling a little off and I think if I typed it, it would make me feel a lot better! This may be girly and emotional-BE warned!

As I said in my last blog, I'll be turning 31 next week! I wish I could stay 30 forever, 30 is a great number and my 30th year was fabulous! What consumes my mind lately is the ever growing presence of the clock.... You know which one I'm talking about... that biological one that for some reason makes certain women freak out about growing older. I'm not to the freaking out stage just yet, but I can't help feeling that it may be very soon that I am.

A little backstory... My boyfriend John and I have been together for 4 and a half years now. We have a house and a dog together and we have made our house our home. John is 27 years old, 3 and a half years younger than me. I knew when I started dating a younger guy that I would have to put off my dreams of marriage and a family a little longer. The majority of my close friends are younger than me and I've gained so many lasting relationships just by being with John. That being said, the core group that I socialize with are all unmarried and without kids with the exception of one child. It seems that there is a race now with who will get engaged first. I can't help wanting it to be me.

I'm so ready for the next step and I really want to have children soon. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. John and I know that we will be together and one day get married but right now is the waiting game to see when he will propose... I'm sure this all sounds very desperate and if you are a guy reading this... there are a lot of women out there that feel the same way. I am truly happy with my life with John... I just want to take that next step and I shouldn't feel bad about that!

Well, enough of the ramblings of a 30 something woman for today!

More fall premieres! by Sherasbear

I love this time a year when there are new tv shows on every night! Premieres galore and I couldn't be happier!

I finally watched the new 90210 and so far it's okay, but the teens are too much like the ones in Gossip Girl. I'm honestly tuning in to see the old faves from the original show! Watched the premiere of True Blood on HBO and I haven't made up my mind on that one yet. LOVED Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, so I figured I'd give this vampire drama a chance. The opening credits sequence is intense, but the show lacks something. Of course, it's only been one episode, so I'll get back to you on whether or not I'll keep watching. DVR'd Fringe last night and I have high hopes for that one! Looking forward to the next couple of weeks with all my old faves coming back: CSI (original), ER, Survivor, Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Private Practice, Lipstick Jungle, Dirty Sexy Money...

Wow, that is A LOT of shows! Where do I find the time

In other news, my fantasy team did not play well last Sunday and I am in dead last with the lowest amount of points! That sucks! BUT, my RAVENS actually won with a brand new rookie quarterback, Joe Flacco! He actually looked promising, so I'll keep my fingers crossed! Too bad about Tom Brady for the Patriots though... out for the season, ouch!

I inch closer to my next birthday, which I really don't want to celebrate this year, can't I just stay 30 forever? I like 30. 30 is fabulous! I do think my 31st year will be amazing!

Been MIA, TV watching and Football! by Sherasbear

Hello all!!! Been so very MIA on this site lately! I've been around, but hardly have checked any blogs or left any comments! Sorry about that all! I was making my daily episode additions to Guiding Light, but other than that, really haven't submitted much lately. Well, actually I made a lot of submissions to a show and the editor has been MIA for a while and staff still hasn't moderated them yet!

Been busy watching TV! I am FINALLY about to finish season four of The OC which has been a long time coming. I've been dvr'ing episodes on Soapnet forever! I have really enjoyed the series and I'm sad that I won't have it to watch on a regular basis anymore. I'm all caught up on Mad Men too! LOVE that show! Watched the premieres of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill on Monday. GG was pretty good, looking forward to the season. OTH wasn't bad, but I was disappointed that Lucas chose who he did! I'm a Brucas fan all the way! The next episode looks great! Caught the new show Raising the Bar, which was okay. I think it has potential. DVR'd 90210 too, so I will watch that this weekend. Watched America's Next Top Model last night. Was interesting with a transgender in the mix but some of those girls were just nasty to Isis, who is the transgender of the bunch.

In other notes, I drafted my fantasy football team last Sunday and I ended up with the second pick for the second year in a row and I ended up with LaDainian Tomlinson AGAIN! I hope he gives me more points this year than last! I'm looking forward to kicking the rest of my league's butts! Football is on TONIGHT! New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins! I HATE the Redskins, but I will watch anyway, just because I need a football fix and I have Chris Cooley as my tight end on my FF team

Hope everyone had a fantastic summer... I know I did! Let's get ready for some fall weather and awesome football!!!

Michael Phelps is Golden!!!! by Sherasbear

Wow! Michael Phelps is AWESOME!!!! 8 gold medals in a single Olympics!!! Watching him swim the last week has been awesome! Friday night's race was so intense and I really thought he lost until I kept watching the replay! Last night, I watched his final race at a bar and the whole crowd was intensely cheering! Just awesome! I'm also proud to say that Phelps comes from my hometown of Baltimore, so we are definitely proud of him!!!

RIP Lucy by Sherasbear

We had to put my dog, Lucy, down last night....and it was so sad. I got Lucy in 1996 when I was working at Pizza Hut. My manager of the store I worked in had just gotten a beagle puppy and her son was allergic, so I decided to adopt 5 month old Lucy and decided to keep her name and not change it. She was the most lively puppy and she got along well with my other dog at the time, Shera. She became my little Goose, my little Lucy Goosy and a whole lot of other cutesy names.

In 1999, I moved away from my family house, only to return a year later and finally in 2003, I moved out completely and my mother basically adopted Lucy as her own. Since then, Lucy was my mom's constant companion. We had to put Shera down in 2004 and that was very, very hard for me. I had had Shera for about 16 years and that made it very hard to say goodbye.

In the past couple of years, Lucy has fought periodontal disease, arthritis and a myriad of other problems. She was having a hard time walking and going up and down steps and was having trouble holding her bladder. My mom made the decision on Monday and last night we took her to the vet to be put down. Nothing can compare to putting a pet down. I felt so guilty especially when I went to pick my mom and Lucy up and Lucy was so happy to see me and waddled over to me tail barely wagging, but you could tell she was happy. Watching her leave this world was heartbreaking and as I said my final goodbyes, I knew she was going to a place where she was no longer in pain. Even though I know that, that does not diminsh the sadness I feel. I will miss her terribly. I hope that no one has to go through that... making the decision to put a pet down, because it really is one of the most heartbreaking ones you will ever have to make.

I came home last night and hugged my little pug, Zoe, so hard. I am thankful that I have Zoe and she definitely cheered me up as did John. John was so sweet to me and my mom last night. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend.

I'll miss you little Lucy, you were a good dog...

5 hours of traffic... by Sherasbear

Got back from the beach yesterday and it should have only taken two and a half hours but it took FIVE whole hours because of this:

The picture is of the Bay Bridge that connects to the eastern shore of Maryland and this is the eastbound bridge heading to the beach. The Bay Bridge is the quickest way to get to the beach, so traffic was a complete nightmare! We actually turned around and went up through Delaware and came back down into Maryland and it took us that long! The tractor trailer actually went over, it was crazy!

Other than that, my beach trip was a lot of fun! John and I relaxed and since there was no tv, we just talked a lot, which is always nice. I am now wishing I was watching tv instead of being at work, but I'll have to catch up on my dvr watching tonight!

On a TV.com note, I picked up a new editorship, Raising the Bar which debuts on TNT on September 1. It's a new legal drama starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar. If you've seen the promos, his hair looks horrible long! I'm looking forward to the show though!

Can you believe it is August already? How depressing that summer is almost over! I have a lot of summer to pack into the next month! Heading to the beach tomorrow again for a long weekend, with just John this time around! It will be nice to get away just the two of us! We haven't been away since our vacation in Mexico this past March.

Other plans include a wedding, a crab feast (a definite BALTIMORE thing ), and of course my fantasy football draft at the end of the month! Looking forward to football, even though my team, the RAVENS!!!! are in a little bit of disarray, but I can always hope for the best!

On a sad note, I lost a friend two weeks ago in a very bad car accident. Unfortunately, drinking was involved... I can't stress it enough to people: if you have something to drink, PLEASE don't get behind the wheel! It's just not worth it!

Well, it's hump day and I hope everyone is having a great week so far! See you after the beach!!!!
