So You Think You Can Dance
Top 10
Avg Score: 8.99    Total Ratings: 14    Total Reviews: 4
Dmitry & Donyelle - I think Dmitry is amazing at ballroom, but he's proved himself mediocre at several other styles. And after watching him partner with Donyelle tonight in their first number (Lindy Hop), Donyelle was great, but Dmitry definitely should have done better. I know she's a little heavier than the average dancer, but she knows how to carry herself, and Benji had no problem doing turns and lifts with her. Dmitry looked very awkward doing the tricks in the first routine. And he has a great body, but I'm tired of seeing his chest already. This isn't a contest to see who has the best pectorals. It's a dance competition, and now that it's heating up, I don't think he has what it takes. I thought that their Samba routine was amazing. Both of their solos were great. I think Donyelle is fabulous, but Dmitry isn’t measuring up to the competition.

Travis and Heidi were great tonight. Their first routine was the Paso Doble. They did very well. Heidi was phenomenal, and Travis was very strong as well. Their second routine was a Contemporary number, and in the clips from rehearsals, it seemed as though Heidi might have problems for the first time picking up the choreography. Mia Michaels just seemed mean. I know she wants the movements just right, and she’s talented, but she’s so negative and critical. Heidi and Travis both pulled through though and the judges and audience loved it. Both of their solos were fantastic. They definitely deserve to stick around.

Benji & Natalie were wonderful as expected. They were amazing in both of their routines together, as well as their solos. The judges had only positive remarks about their Jazz routine. They had great chemistry and they performed the routine so well that it didn’t seem as though they were executing choreography, the movements seemed to flow from their bodies. The second routine that they did was Hip Hop. Their synchronization was off a bit, but individually they nailed their choreography. The judges even said that both dancers were believable in their roles as Hip Hop dancers. In spite of the lack of togetherness, the judges loved the routine. Benji is my absolute favorite in the show so far. I think he's the most versatile of the guys. Natalie is also amazing at everything she does and she didn’t let down the audience with her performance tonight.

Ivan & Martha - Their first routine was hip hop. Ivan was fantastic, of course, since Hip Hop is his specialty. Martha was good, but considering some of the other fantastic performances by others tonight, she really should have brought more. She wasn’t bad by any means, but she wasn’t up on the same level as Ivan. Their other routine was a Smooth Waltz. I thought that the routine looked nice, but the judges didn’t love it. Again, it was good, but not up to par with the other performances of the night.

Ryan & Allison did a Contemporary routine together first. It was very good. The judges liked it too, especially Allison’s performance, but they thought that Ryan should have had a stronger performance, since contemporary is his forte. Their second routine was a Broadway number. It was entertaining, and Allison nailed it, but Ryan’s performance was missing something. The judges noticed it too and asked that he put more heart into his performances. They all agreed that Ryan brought heart into his solo. Allison’s solo was good too.

Opinions & predictions: I'm having a hard time choosing a favorite girl. They are all so talented and most of them have been able to pull off just about anything that was thrown at them. I’m leaning toward Donyelle as a favorite, followed closely by Heidi and Natalie, then Allison. I think maybe Martha was the weakest link this week for the girls, although I'll hate to see her or any of the other girls go. She's been absolutely amazing in some of her routines, but tonight I don't think she brought it on the same level as the other girls. For the guys, I’m guessing that Ryan will probably go next (if he doesn’t Dmitry should be the one to go). Benji is the strongest of the male dancers, and in my opinion, the best dancer overall. The next best guy is Travis, then Ivan (I put him above Dmitry based on versatility and the improvement he has exhibited on the show).

It's a Mannequin's World

It's Miley's birthday, and she's looking forward to all of it, except the part where she has to open the present from her dad. Her dad is great at almost everything else, but when it comes to picking out presents for Miley, he misses the boat. Miley hatches a plan to have Lilly "accidently" run into her dad while he's shopping for her gift. They think the plan has worked, and that Miley will finally get something stylish and unembarrasing, but Robbie changes his mind at the last minute and picks out something horrendous. Miley gets stuck wearing the horrible gift at her surprise birthday party, and tries to avoid letting anyone see it. At the same time, she doesn't want to let her dad know that she hates the gift, because she knows he went to a lot of trouble to pick it out for her. In the end, father and daughter are able to talk about it and come to terms with the way they feel.

JoJo's Circus
Happy Hoppy Day / Brushing Up
Avg Score: 10.00    Total Ratings: 1    Total Reviews: 1
In "Happy Hoppy Day", Jojo learns that you don't have to be the best at everything. She consistently comes in last when playing "Froggy Surprise" with her classmates. At first she is upset by this, but then she is reminded that there are other things that she is good at. This episode teaches a nice lesson about finding what you are good at.

In "Brushing Up", Jojo and Goliath want to go on a picnic with their friends, but they have to brush their teeth first. Goliath wants to brush his teeth all by himself, but he's never done it without help. Jojo and her friends teach Goliath how to brush his teeth by repeating the instructions until he understands and masters it. There is a catchy little song in this episode, which I sing when I'm brushing my toddler's teeth. It distracts her long enough for me to get the job done. When I start singing the song, she actually runs into the bathroom to get her toothbrush. I hope the writers continue to put a good effort into the clever songs.

This group of episodes is one of my favorite pairings.

100 Days and Counting / Hoop Happy
Avg Score: 9.07    Total Ratings: 7    Total Reviews: 1
Both of the episodes in this pair were fun to watch. My daughter likes to watch the show, and I find myself watching alongside her most of the time. Some shows are hard to get through, but the catchy music and dancing keeps her engaged. Anything that gets her excited and dancing is fun. In the “100 Days and Counting” episode, Jojo learns that it is hard to come up with 100 of something. “Hoop Happy” teaches about the importance of sharing. I like the shows because they teach kids lessons, as well as trying to entertain them. These episodes did a good job.

Phil of the Future
Where's the Wizard?
Avg Score: 9.49    Total Ratings: 35    Total Reviews: 7
This episode was a lot of fun. I think it is interesting how they keep letting principal Hackett get close to the truth, but he never quite figures it out. Even when he thinks he has, the Diffys manage to pull one over on him. If everyone keeps running into the future technology though, someone is going to remember it. They can\'t erase peoples memories. I like to see Phil and Keely\'s relationship getting a little bit closer to where we all want it to go. They make such great friends, but they\'ll be great as a couple some day. I hope this show continues on for several more seasons.
