ROTC is a ton of fun and I love it to death so far. However this past week i've had to battle sleep every single minute of every class that I have. I go to bed early (9:30 or 10, wake up at 5:10).

Anybody have any suggestions on how to stay awake? I would prefer not having to resort to caffeine.

Well college began monday for me and let me tell you that it is all that I thought it could be and more. I dont think I have had so much fun in one week ever before. I have found a good balance between focusing on ROTC/Class and going out and having fun. It's cool how everybody here is willing to meet people and wanting to make new friends. 70% of my school is made up of girls too and that statement alone speaks for itself. I received a perfect score on my first APFT and I plan on pushing my score into the extended scale next test. The weather hasn't been the best because of Hurricane Fay though, however it's not holding us back from going out and having fun. There are pretty dangerous ghettos not too far outside of the campus which you have to be careful of but it's all okay as long as you walk through them in big groups of people. Last night we had to walk some girls through the ghetto after a party (sort of like rape prevention) which I thought was kind of funny. I think I am going to have a blast these next 4 years and I look forward to it.

Quick update about the girlfriend, we broke up it's over and I've already gotten over it. Anyways, College and my ROTC training begins in 2 weeks and im pretty excited. Right now i'm working on filling out my army contract which is pretty annoying but whatever.. Until then I'm going to workout hard these next 2 weeks. My first APFT is on August 19th. I think i should get a perfect score, if not then close to it.

So I decided to give my girlfriend another chance (being that i'm leaving for school in 16 days anyways so it doesn't really matter). I have tightened up her freedoms and I had her agree to tell me where she is each night and not go to parties without me. I can't trust her however and even though I told her that I have forgiven her, I haven't yet. This is a test run in my opinion and so far it's not going too well. Anytime I talk about her to somebody, I never have anything good to say. She doesn't seem appreciative of the second chance I have given her either. I guess time will tell!

Either way, don't care! School is 16 days away, none of this crap matters in the long run. College/Army here I come.

Well just my luck, I've been screwed over again! My girlfriend of a whopping 1 year and 2 months, who I treated so well, has cheated on me. I found out 2 days ago from one of my friends. She did it 3 weeks ago when she was at a party. She got insanely drunk to the point where she blacked out. It was during this time that she madeout with some kid. When she found out the next morning she said she freaked out and didn't know what to do. I am not sure on how I want to handle this yet...But right now I am thinking that I am going to want to try and save our relationship. She will have to regain my trust if this is the case, however that's something that can be done. It just takes time. We're on a "Break" right now, until she chills out about this whole thing. She's thinking very negatively about everything because she feels so guilty for what she did to me. She does however seem very sorry about what she did, and being that she was drunk (which is still no excuse), I think I will be able to be willing to reconcile. I recuperate quicker than her I guess so I am already ready to talk it out with her, but she's not ready yet. This is a really crappy situation. I hope it all works out though...
