Yeah, I'm a day late and a dollar short...what is new!!
Well, well...well...the third year birthday has come and gone. A lot has changed in the past year. My kids are growing, they will both be in school this year. Piper is just going into Pre-School but it still seems like it was just yesterday she was a little baby.
Summer is upon us, the heat was behind this year it seems so it is just now getting hot. The kids are spending lots of time at the pool keeping cool. I go when I can, but time is still pretty limited.
I guess the biggest news for business was the recent buy out of Anheuser-Bush. My best knowledge is that it was gonna happen one way or another. I guess in my business opinion, it was the smart choice. I mean who could not use billions of dollars.
As shocking at it was, I guess the buy out was better than a hostile take over, which would of happened had they not sold.
What are the good and the bad, for me, customers are beyond mad. So much so that die hard Budweiser drinkers are switching. I have customers that have been in my store buying Budweiser product, some times daily, for 2 years...walking a couple extra steps and buying Miller or Coors.
Have you made any changes or will you?
Well I think that will be about it. I don't have much else. I have shelves to stock and other things to do. Hope you all are having a great summer!!

Robber gets smart on himself...takes plea.
So, my previous blog kinda told everyone about the robbery that took place at my store. I was scheduled to attend a meeting at the prosecutor's office tomorrow (Friday June 27). Then I was off to court starting July 1. Blah...I was not really looking forward to it, but yet in another way I was. Yeah I know I'm weird.
So I am sitting here minding my own business, checking in liquor orders when the phone rings. It is the lady from the prosecutors office. She has some good news for me. I will not be required to attend the meeting tomorrow or appear in court.
Turns out the guy was going to plead not guilty to both counts of robbery, my store and the other one. I guess someone talked some sense into him and he decided to take a plea. He will plead guilty to both counts of robbery. He will go before the judge tomorrow and be sentenced to 18 years, on both counts they sentences will run concurrent.
So that is over and the guy will be a familiar site in the Department of Corrections for a long time to come. Turns out he is all too familiar with the Depart of the Corrections, as he had not been out long when he decided to hold up two liquor stores. He is a smart one eh?!
Well I think that is all I got for now, so thanks for stopping!!

Studog, witness for the prosecution?!
Just for those who don't know, I own and operate a liquor store.
September 23, 2007 1:15 am
I am at home just crawling into bed after leaving the store. Just about to doze off when the police scanner goes crazy. There has been a robbery. I am not really alert, then every phone in the house starts ringing. I pick up my cell phone it is my employee tell me she has just been robbed and the police are on the way. We jump out of bed, and realize we had only been gone 10 or 15 minutes.
We scramble to get down here, to see what all happened. We knew no one was hurt which was our main concern. We have insurance for a reason, so damage to the store or money missing was the least of our worries. We arrive and find out that in fact we were robbed. The only thing missing was some money.
The perpetrator got away on foot.
September 30, 2007
I get a phone call from a customer, telling me that a liquor store across town was just robbed. I made phone calls to let my husband know what was going down. Again the perpetrator got away on foot.
However this time he did have a get away vehicle and a driver. The police would pull over the get away car and eventually make an arrest in the matter.
June 19, 2008
I get a letter from the county prosecutor telling me that I will be getting a subpoena as "victim" in this case. For some odd reason he has decided to go to trial.
So Stu here will be a witness for the prosecution on July 1, 2008.
So that is my story...and I am sticking to it!!
Ok that is all for now!! I will keep everyone updated!! Have a good one thanks for stopping!!

This episode had a lot going on in it. From the death of Devalos’s friend to the possible demonic possession of a young girl…to Joe’s new project at work. I thought every story got its own fair amount of time.
I personally thought there was some character growth in this episode. Allison again struggling with her ‘gift’ and trying to make heads or tails out of her dreams. Joe struggling with what his wife is, and finally telling someone even if they didn’t believe him. Devalos suffering a loss and showing the emotions of a civilian versus the hard surface of a district attorney. Great job by the actors in my opinion on this episode.
The writing…bravo! I will admit it I figured out the candies were the source about half way thru. I can’t even pin point what tipped me off as my first clue but it was subtle enough that when the final hospital scene came I was like “see yep I was right”.
I really enjoyed the final scene with the Dubois family gathered having cake to celebrate the new top secret job that Joe got. Even more classic was the ending with Bridgette and the ship to Mars.
Awesome episode…great acting…well written…all around fabulous job in this viewers eyes!

I was a bit confused at first…thinking we were watching Adult Allison flashing back to the past. However I soon realized that we were in fact with Teenage Allison flashing to the future. Great story telling and wonderful acting in my opinion.
I have to give the “past” portion of this episode an A+. Everyone from the cloths to the set people did a wonderful job setting the ‘past’ up as the ‘past’. From the U2 poster hanging on the wall to the cloths the characters were wearing were tip top…very must a sign of the times.
The writing…fabulous…this show has just the right amount of confusion, drama, laughter, and speculation to keep it interesting. I had to keep telling myself that we were watching Teenage Allison and she was seeing the future unfold.
A bit predictable toward the end…sure but I admit I would have done the same thing. Knowing I could spare girls of the future from torment…I would not question it either.
I thought all the actors did a find job, with the exception of Adult Steven, he appeared to be a bit uncomfortable in his own skin…maybe that was just the character but I found him a little blah.
You can bet ya that I will be tuning into the next episode…see you there!

Phew…what an episode. While it was hard at first for me to keep up with what was a dream and what wasn’t…I eventually got into the right groove. For me that is what I love about this show it keeps me guessing. I never really know for sure what is a dream until the zoom in on Allison’s eyes and the pop open. That is when I say “it was just a dream, now do what needs to be done”.
Let’s start with the acting…wow! What a great job done by everyone. Allison was realistic in her acting. From the checking to make sure her legs were there to yelling at the telemarketer. Joe…he did a wonderful job playing the confused husband. He was loving and his ‘man emotion’ was perfect in the hospital. Ariel…someone give that girl an award. Wow, she did an awesome job. The crying in the hospital to the utter shock at her mother…great range of acting. All the others did a great job and for some reason the added comedy really made the episode for me. I mean I can’t name the number of times I have had a dream and woke up and had to check something.
The writing, was outstanding in my opinion. The jokes were just right and made the episode enjoyable to watch. They were not overbearing and timed wrong which was great.
All the other stuff…wow was that car crash scene awesome or what? I watched the bit on NBC about it, pretty cool how it ended up in the finished product. Overall a great episode from the directors to the actors. With episodes like this I will be sure to set my DVR so I can watch it over and over again! Keep the great episodes coming.

Mind of Mencia Episode #101 Avg Score: 9.20 Total Ratings: 52 Total Reviews: 5 Users who agree: 2 Users who disagree: 2 |
Mind of Mencia is not for everyone, but this viewer is loving it. Carlos gives us his opinion of September 11, and why he thinks America is one big game of tag. Carlos says what a lot of people think but they do not say.
Carlos gives us just a little family history telling us he is child 17 of 18. Then like any good comedian he will makes jokes about his family.
Peter Boyle stops by to make a guest apperance, and reads and letter from a fan. Carlos laughs though the whole thing.
Maybe this show should come with a warning label…well here it is. Grab a soda and a bowl of popcorn and be prepared to laugh. You may like it and then again you may not. Carlos Mencia is sure to be a comedian that is around for a while.
Looking forward to next week’s laughs!

Deadliest Catch Heading Out to Sea Avg Score: 8.86 Total Ratings: 16 Total Reviews: 2 Users who agree: 1 |
Back for its second season Deadliest Catch is still action packed and problem ridden. What everyone thought would be a one season wonder has returned for the surprise of many fans.
The King Crab season has begun with new rules in place. The fleet is smaller but the crab count goes unchanged. This season starts harsh with Mother Nature working against them. Boats plagued with bad luck get a late start while another must head back to port.
Three new boats this year are featured. The stakes are still high and the fishing starts out hit or miss.
Overall a great episode and the remembrance of “Big Valley” weigh on the minds of everyone. This viewer cannot wait for the next episode.
