I think a lot of people tend to write off the '70s fantasy type shows, However, I just rented the first episodes of Fantasy Island from Netflix and I must say they are surprisingly engaging. Mr. Rourke is more menacing then I remember. The stories are actually well written and hold your interest. This pilot episode is no exception. It's nice to see the late Bill Bixby again. Also, Victoria principle is amazing looking. Like most FI espisodes, there are three interesting story lines. Check it ouut.

Eight is Enough
Yes Nicholas, there is a Santa Claus (1)

THis is the classic Eight is Enough episode. Nicholaus lets in a fake Santa Claus who really wants to steal the Bradford's Christmas presents after he reads an article by Tom. The mischevious fake Santa is none other then Will Greer famous for his role as Granpa Walton. Other classic bits - Susan's blind date is played by the the guy who played Doug Simpson in the classic Brady bunch episode - with the catch phrase "Something suddenly came up" when Marcia' nose is broken by the tossed football. Tom & Abbey cozy under the Christmas tree, Tommy dealing with the death of his Mother, Midnight Mass, Christmas tunes, David's girlfriend, and everything turning out OK. Great Christmas episode.

The Short, Happy Circuit of Aunt Clara
Avg Score: 7.75    Total Ratings: 13    Total Reviews: 1
Elizabeth Montogmery looks lovely as usual. I did notice that for a lot of the episodes in 1966 she wears a heart shaped necklace. Maybe this was actually hers and not just a prop. Possibly, it openened and there was a picture of her son (born in 1964)..? I guess we'll never know. I digress.. Aunt Clara accidentally turns off the power for all of the East coast. She calls her old boyfriend Achy to help her. Achy is played by Reginald Owen who stared in one of my favorite Christams Carol movie adaptations (1939). Achy get the power back on in the Stephen's house but it only stays on if he keeps his arms up.. The Tates and Stephen's bring the client to the Stephen's when they hear there is power there. Mrs. Cravitz scares poor Achy invisible except for his shoes - which walk out the door.
Just so happens the client sells shoes and you can guess the rest. Favorite line - when Aunt Clara does a Scottish jig to cover up Achy's whereabouts, the client says "I bet she know's where the brandy is"

Dangerous Diaper Dan
Avg Score: 8.58    Total Ratings: 21    Total Reviews: 1
Ahh.. The good old days when clean cut young lads picked up and delivered cloth diapers. Well, diaper Dan gives the Stephen's a nice new baby rattle. Little do they know that the rattle contains a hidden Mic. It appears that good old Dan has been bought off by the Kimberly ad agency to get wind of Darrin's great ad campaigns.. A Tate & McMahon client keeps telling Larry and Darrin that he has already seen their new ideas elsewhere. Well, they finally figure out where the bug is. Nice scene where Endora and Sam keep Diaper Dan from stealing another idea. The baby on the truck begins to talk to Dan while diaper packs are mysteriously thrown at him.. Favorite scene is Larry downing his hypertension pills after another idea is rejected by the client. Overall, nothing special in the episode but worth a watch.

This is your classic Bewitched episode - Halloween. Endora decides to throw a lavish Halloween party at the Stephen's home. I would say season three has Elizabeth Montgomery at her most beautiful and this episode is no exception. She donns a lovely black dress and classy hairstyle that cleary shows her stunning beauty.. But I digress. This episode includes Endora's "Night before Halloween" poem complete with Uncle Arthur's ad-libs. Also included is Mrs. Cravitz attempt to crash the party. My favorite moment is Darrin (Dick York) learning a new dance from the cat/woman. Overall, this episode includes all the classic elements from the Bewitched series.
