ER Survival of the Fittest Avg Score: 8.60 Total Ratings: 47 Total Reviews: 4 |
This episode does stretch believability alot. Would a policeman really leave his gun so readily accessible to anyone and everyone in the ER? I do not think so. The security of the weapon itself is paramount and I cannot believe that a cop would simply leave his PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) lying nearby in full view so openly. Therefore I would feel that the cop himself is the main person who is guilty of the death of the elderly woman for his neglect in maintaining the security of his PPE. A pretty weak plot with a dismal end to it too. POOR!

ER Hell and High Water Avg Score: 8.68 Total Ratings: 118 Total Reviews: 11 |
Having bought the first 4 series' DVD sets a while ago, I have been racing through them. I hadn't really seen much of ER before I bought them but love the show now. Yesterday I reached Hell and High Water (coincidentally exactly 10 years since its first ever airing on NBC). This episode has to be one of the most well - written episodes I have seen yet. George Clooney was fantastic with the storyline with the boy stuck in the tunnel full of raging water. The paralell story with the young girl was nearly as gripping. I was astonished that the 42minutes had passed so quickly by the time the credits rolled. Despite not having Sherry Stringfield ( who I now admire as an actress, despite her character in NYPD Blue who was quite unappealing)in the episode, this was First Class and hopefully there are many more hidden gems among the DVD releases waiting for me to discover. Well done to all!!!

When I watch a drama, I don't expect to be required to spend a significant amount of my enjoyment of the episode reading subtitles at the foot of the screen. I feel this excessive amount of subtitling ruined my enjoyment of this episode. There is plenty of foreign language material available loaded with subtitles.

One of the best Granada dramas I have seen in recent years. I never got around to seeing it when shown on ITV, however purchased the full dvd boxset of all 5 series a while ago. What a joy!!! Series 3 had to be the best with Hermionne Norris outstanding in her role. What a pity they had to kill off Helen Baxendale's adorable character. This show could have run and run.

Here in the UK we have just reached half way through Season 1 and the show is beginning to drag I feel. The fact that many of the actors playing Australians seem to have very unusuual dialects. Apart from the main cast, the guest star's seem to attempt to speak with an Aussie accent which becomes Irish, British and even South African. So far Claire's former boyfriend seems to be the worst offender. I hope the show improves but it has a long way to go to equal Channel 4's Wednesday previous 10pm offering - the fantastic Desperate Housewives.
