Back from Vacation + GB Profile Info
Okay, let me tell you about my three-day vacation in Long Island...
First, before leaving, I decided to buy a couple of CDs. Yes, CDs. I honestly didn't feel like going on iTunes for these:
Ten by Pearl Jam
My Own Prison by Creed
So far, I'm liking them. Ten sounds better than My Own Prison, though.
Next, I decided to take the train to LI. I live in east-central New York State, so I could drive there if I wanted. Problem is, driving through NYC alone without familiarity is suicide. So, instead, I took a train to the city, and another one eastward towards LI (not much trouble). I spent three days at my grandparents' house (as you already knew). However, being in their mid 80's, my grandparents were not the most fun people to be around. I spent those days in their house, watching TV, eating, and conversing. It was just too hot outside to do anything.
I spent about five and a half hours getting back home... since I had to wait an hour in the train station between trains, and the northbound train was delayed a bit. But, I got home in one piece. Made my folks rather proud. ![]()
Well, enough about that story... I might as well tell you that my GB profile is up. The username is the same as my YouTube name: TheVGManiac. So, hit me up with a friend request!
I'm going on vacation...
E3 08: FFXIII on 360?? Whoa...
I was unable to watch the press conference today because it started when I was at work, and when I got home, the site was so full I couldn't even load the front page. But now I see the news on the newsbar: the next "numbered" Final Fantasy game is coming to the Xbox 360. Geez louise... I couldn't believe my eyes. Those games have been PS-exclusive for ten years, and now it's gonna be multi-platform. I honestly don't know what to say. I guess it was bound to happen, though, and I can't complain, either. ![]()
Also, I wanted to re-subscribe in time for E3, but there was a billing snag and I had to contact customer service (which hasn't responded yet). Now I have to wait for that, too. Other than that, not much else to speak of... I'll probably be downloading the console companies' PC's when they're available, so I can watch them on my own time.
Know Your Spoofs [UPDATE on game finds as well!]
Well, I attempted to sell my PS3 on eBay. One person bid on it, but when the auction ended, I received a message saying the account was fraudulent. Therefore, I went to GameStop instead and traded the PS3 in. So far, so good. The next day, though, I get a whole bunch of e-mails screaming at me to get a shipping tracking number for the thing, and one that said the canceled bid was an error. I immediately went back to GameStop, only to find out my PS3 could not be returned. I spent all night last night waiting for eBay/PayPal customer service to get back to me, and finally, it was revealed to me that all those e-mails I got were spoofs, aka fake e-mails attempting to scam me. Oh man... I took all the right steps, though, and now everything is back to normal. So, let me give you all some advice: Don't sell high-valued stuff like PS3s on eBay, especially if you're inexperienced.
EDIT: Thanks to gamergeek545 for asking... You may be wondering what I bought with $200 store credit, right? Well, here they are:
1. Nintendo DS Rumble Add-On
2. Yoshi's Island DS (used, for sis
)
3. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2, used, $30)
4. Grandia II (PS2, used, $13)
5. Grandia III (PS2, used, $20)
I'm especially surprised that I was able to find DHoD... you don't see games like those in GameStop very often.
So anyway... (random blog)
1. I heard Persona 4 is coming to the states. Exciting stuff... I'll see when I can pre-order it and hopefully get two copies (one to play, another to keep for future value).
2. My car broke down on Saturday when I went to the mall to see "Get Smart". The car had a coolant leak in the lower engine, but luckily, it only cost roughly $100 to fix it. Oh, and the movie was great. ![]()
3. I'm going to my grandparents' house on the 20th and staying there until the 22nd, so I won't be on a whole lot then.
4. Our family recently got DirecTV satellite service, which is way better than broadcast, which we've had for as long as I can remember. 100+ channels is great, except when there's nothing on at all ![]()
5. I apologize for not being on as much lately, but with the 4th of July weekend, there wasn't much activity here. But with E3 just around the corner, things will pick up again, and I'll be on much more often. ![]()
See ya around...
