Solid State Society and the state of the world
Well i finally found a fansub of GTS SAC Solid State Society, and let me say its fairly good but leaves alot of puzzling questions, makes the end of second gig make alot less sense. That aside its well worth watching when you get the chance. It also raises alot of questions about the state of society and all that too.
It seems that while i have been hunting for this and other new animes that i want to watch the world has gone insane and things are only preparing to get worse, it makes me whish that there was a real world section 9 that could go out and deal with the bad guys save the world and all that.
One down One to go
Well one grad school orientation down one to go. The general one just got pointless about halfway through and i get hear alot of the same things on Sat on the one for my program. On the good side at least one is done
I'm moved in sorta still getting all the furnature together, one of my friends who goes to the Guilford which is where i went to school and not far down the road stayed whith me for the last 2 nights since they wouldn't let him in his room on campus
Well enough about real life on to my other thoughts for the day I've been reading alot latley and have found several books that i think would make awsome TV mini serieses
The Harry Truttle Dove alternate history series which starts with the south winning the Civil War and goes forward with world wars one and two happening but the USA fighting the CSA
The other is the David Weber/Steve White books Crusade In Death Ground and the Shiva Option, this would have to be along mini series to tell the story. Crusade while in the same universe could be made completely spearate from the other 2
Well thats all for now
Life Tv and Many other things
As i'm getting ready to head back to school yet agian This time its grad school i find that life is getting crazyier and crazyier, but hey thats the way things go, and i find it has caused me to want to watch more tv than in the past and rediscover some shows that i hadn't watched in ages or had never really liked before.
I find that with all of this i'm looking forward to the fall and the continuation of some of my favorite shows such including NCIS, CSI, and Battlestar Galactica which if even half the stuff that i've read on the net is true is going to be awsome.
Of what has come this summer Eureaka is better that i thought i would be, and plus watching it caused me to see the BSG preview which was awsome. I've also found that i'm begining to like Deep Space Nine thanks to Spikes re-runs of it
Well grad school and the stuff i need to get done before i start awaits espically moving my stuff into my appartment i'm renting at least for this coming year

Why is that you ask
Well while it has beatuifull animation, exciting action, and memorable characters that is only the tip of the Iceburg. On top of all that it presents a great story that delves into alot of questions we as society need to ask, such as where doses the real world end and the digital world beginn, what dose it mean to be human and many others.
On top of all of that it has some really cool tech, such as the Tachikomas. Which helps to present and intriguing and somewhat beliveable view of the future.
The story itself is one of the most engaging animated stories i have ever seen, and while it sometimes requires alot of thought to keep everything that is going on straight
it all makes sense in the end. I can see why many people liken it to an animated version of 24 but i would have to say it is much more than that.
So if want a show that has a good story and requires you think at times Ghost in the Shell SAC is for you.

Battlestar Galactica (2003) Avg Score: 9.13 Total Ratings: 13335 Total Reviews: 505 |
This is not the orginal battlestar or a corny remake of it. It is one of the best new Sci-fi shows out there and it just gets better as it goes
admitly it does barrow some plot elements from the orginal, such as the appreance of the Pegasus, but not alot
Overall it is something that any sci-fi fan should watch, unless they are young children, who are too young to understand or be exposed to the grim realities that the show presents
if you get the chance whatch it you will more than likely love its mix of great sci-fi action and sometimes hard hitting social comentaries
