first steps on tv.com
after having the account here for some weeks now recently my first contributions were added, just added some episode on an uk crime show. still it was nice to see them being accepted. reviews and forum posts are nice, but to actually contribute is better. i hope there will be more to follow.

The 4400 Avg Score: 8.92 Total Ratings: 9474 Total Reviews: 342 |
shows about aliens have always caught my attention, it's something i certainly like. now it seems this show might not be about aliens, but the it already has caught me. for the moment im hoping the people who send the 4400 back won't be too involved, as time travel isn't one of my favourite things.
the show started good, bam 4400 people show up and you got an interesting story. what you do with those people will pretty much determine the quality of the show. certainly enough interesting people have been introduced so far. there is also the risk of throwing too many people in the mix, but so far that hasn't happened. the story lines are fine also, some old stuff that has to be straightened out and some new stuff. as expected the population isn't too happy about then and they get attacked from two sides, as one side doesn't appear what it is.
the problem after just seeing the first season is that much has happened but most is totally open yet. luckly there is a next season, because else it would be a big dissapointment. only one storyline has closed so far and opened into a big one.
hopefully the second season will be able to answer some questions and work out the characters more. it can become a higher grade for sure, much will depend on the second season.

The Inspector Lynley Mysteries In Pursuit of the Proper Sinner Avg Score: 6.51 Total Ratings: 19 Total Reviews: 3 |
I'm not totally in the know about the previous episode so it's hard to judge if the punishment of Havers was a fair one. It prolly was on an official level, but still it feels like she gets punished way too hard. Certainly when you see what a great job she does in the episode. The way Lynley acts makes it hard to like him, he tries to get her back but I feel he can work a little harder and be a little less arogant. Havers simply shows to be sergant worthy, if it weren't for he rebellious attitude, something being forced on by the demotion.
The story was nice, the usual upper class people and their problems like you often see in a Lynley episode. Throw in some rebellious children and obsessed girlfriends and you got a good story.
The obssesed girlfriend of Julian was the thing that bothered me the most, she seems to get away with everything. While nothing was seriously bad, karma should come back and haunt her.

Odyssey 5 Avg Score: 8.54 Total Ratings: 409 Total Reviews: 19 |
simply a good show, an interesting theme that could offer a good numbers of episodes in which different issues can be explorerd. shamefully only a handful of these issues are explored because of an early cancelation.
being put back 5 years in the past and getting the task to prevent the earth from blowing up isn't super orginal. but all kind of extra things as smart computer programs fighting each other and then world and knowing the future in away makes it more interesting then it might sound at first.
the cast is good fun also, a number of people with different subpriorities and egos have to work together for the main priority, saving the earth from destruction (again).
as mentioned other reviews you will prolly get an empty feeling when watching the final episode and wanting to know how it ends. the final episode is really a great season finale, but it NEEDS another season to be perfect. none the less, its worth your time.

Waking the Dead Towers of Silence (1) Avg Score: 7.85 Total Ratings: 12 Total Reviews: 1 Users who agree: 1 |
This review is about Towers of Silence episode 1 & 2 as they are more or less one story.
The unexpected dead of Mel in the previous season is still clearly felt in this episode. At first only Grace and Boyd appear in the further empty HQ. Clearly Boyd still has problems when their new DS showed up, another young woman called Andrea. The old pathologist had apparently also problems with the dead of Mel as she is replaced now by Felix Gibson. Even Spencer seemed to have lost it and supposedly attacked Boyd, but that turns out the lie a little differently then it seems at the first glance.
The new cast members perform fine, of course they have to get used to the sometimes typical methods of Boyd but they clearly can handle themselves well enough around him and are able to surprise him.
The story was pretty good; it started with pictures of a plane on a plane graveyard and Boyd buying a model plane to play around with. A corpse was discovered inside a plane on the graveyard which was placed there years ago. The corpse comes from a time in which a mysterious heist took place on Heathrow, one that was never solved.
Boyd has to look into a world on counterfeit medicine and the brutal handling of such competition by established companies in that field. Things get personal when he has to meet some representatives from such a company to get the case moving on. And in the end the question remains who played who. There is a possibility here for something to continue over the season, I hope that happens :)
Overall it was a good begin of the season, hopefully the next episodes will be of equal quality.
