A sea of faces!
Hi everyone!
I took part in Jack Petchey's Speak out! competition at my school it was really good because we were coached in how to speak infront of a crowd. Our body language, eyecontact, pace etc it was really interesting because you could really see people developing throughout the day as we learnt new things!
Well the competition itself came towards the end of the day when we were given the task of preparing a speech about a subject we felt strongly about to present to the rest of the group. I choose the fact that the emergency services are underpayed, it just annoys me that certain porfessions get paid more when the emergency services are so valuble. Anyway I was really nervous and shaking and it soon came to my turn but when I stood up I just thought 'I'm gonna go for it there's no point my nerves getting to me'. So I blitzed through it and it turns out...
I came second
Which means I'm through to the Borough final but I'm not sure if I'm a reserve or actually speaking, but it'll be a good experience!
I'm thinking of buying Knocked up and Superbad has anybody seen them and would you recommend?
Hope everyone's had a good week so far ![]()
Time, time, time!
Wow, it's nearly a year since I posted a blog so I think it's about time I did ![]()
I attented an easter school at Cambridge University last week ( for 4 days) I was due to go with one of my friends but she didn't give the letter in on time so I was left with the decision to go on my own or miss out... so I decided to brave it and go alone.
I'm glad I did because I learnt loads and had a really great time. I don't think you appreciate university and student life because you build an impression on stereotypes and the media so it was good to break out of those impressions. It also reassured me that I do infact want to go to university I wasn't 100% sure before but the indepence and overall student life really appealed to me. I know I'm only doing my GCSE's now but I want to have some idea of where I'm going.
We also did alot of "social activites" as they were called; we went bowling not one of the best things for me to do but I surprised myself by winning a game I honestly didn't see that coming with my technique
We also went Punting and on a ghost walk (I never realised how much history Cambridge has). Basically I'm glad I went because I would have really missed out!
I hope everyone is well ![]()

The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.
Hey everyone,
I got back from my holiday this afternoon after a day and a half's travelling which wasn't much fun, I've never been so glad to see our house
It was a good 3 weeks and I really enjoyed myself, whereas their is usually 4 of us their was 5 this time as my sister's boyfriend came along too.Whilst in spain we took a trip into Barcelona where we saw the football stadium (Which I must say I wasn't impressed by) this beautiful cathedral in construction that is set to have 18 towers and will be finished around 2028 I believe; I can't remember the name right now but I'm sure it will come to me. We also saw the 'Magic fountains' which were fantastic , we were told that it uses 2600 L of water per second and at it's highest point reached 70m. Therefore the fountains are only shown on Thursday's, Friday's and Saturday. I will post pictures when I transfer them to my laptop ![]()
We had some nice meals out and a general good time in Spain, the weather was nice and it was quiet! France however was completely different it rained on various ocassions and was never really hot , we also had a man obviously teaching himself to play guitar and he kept playing the same song over and over even late at night
Needless to say we weren't impressed by our week in France. We did have a nice day out at Aqualand though, I doubt we'll go again because it's just too busy but I had alot of fun on the waterslides. My particular favourite was 'The Wave' which is basically in the shape of a skateboard ramp and you sit in a dingy and go down a vertical drop and keep going from side to side until the water stops you and you get soaked
It was a tiring three weeks but I really enjoyed it!
Elsewhere my sister was due to get her GCSE'S on Thursday but obviously we were on holiday so she opened them today and she did really well despite what she herself thought before hand. So well done Rach!
I have 8 Days until I return to school and this may sound weird but I'm looking forward to it now. I get to a point in the holidays where i just want to get back into the swing of school and just get on with it and this year I start working towards my GCSE'S I'm taking French, Geography and Public services!
I hope everyone has a good week!

Summer Holiday!
Just checking in before I leave for my holiday tommorow! (Just incase I can't blog tommorow)
I'm headed for Spain and the South of France, we have a caravan so we're driving there; we have a long journey ahead of us! I'm looking forward to 3 weeks away before my return to school, I'm certain that the time will fly by; doesn't it always
Other things ; I have gone up a few levels since my last blog and gained a few more editorships. I've seen my friend that was moving to Cornwall for the last time today, I'll miss her but I'm gonna go and visit she won't get ridof me that easily ![]()
I'll be back on the 28th August. I hope everyone enjoys what they have left of their summer ![]()

Celebration evening!
So I have just returned from my awards evening! When I arrived I had no idea what my award was for turns out it was Technology. This completely baffled me as I've never really thought of myself as strong in practical subjects I've always been better at more academic stuff. So I was surprised but after I thought about it for a while I remembered the fact that I enjoyed food tech and didn't do half bad on it. Danny crates Awarded them and his speech was great, funny and really inspiring.Overall it was a good evening! ![]()

Luka's whole intiative of planning the wedding himself just fitted, it was as if in some way he knew Abby couldn't go through with it without that push.In addition having the wedding in "a maze" didn't give Abby the option of running away as she has done so many times before. He took everything into account and really showed his love for her.
Abby was obviously scared of the prospect of the wedding and felt the need to take it out on Luka the 'croatian sensation'. Luka just did what he felt was best for Abby and eventually after he talked her round she realised this with the help of his 'secret weapon': Joe. I thought it was spot on how Luka had listened to everything Abby had said without her realisation it was just symbolic of How Luka has always been. That dress was beautiful and Abby lookes stunning.
The scenes between Neela and Abby and Luka and Pratt were just right it didn't go over the top it just stated what they had been through together whilst asking them as close friends to stand up there with them. I liked the fact neither of them used the commercialised terms but tried to steer clear of Maid of honour and Best man.
I thoroughly enjoed the scenes where Abby wasn't ready to walk down the isle so Hope was forced to push her; just Abby all over she doesn't follow through without that push. Both her and Luka's reactions to the Rabi were classic also.
One of the only things I disliked about this episode was when the Scene showed Abby walking down the isle then faded her out to show Sam. I don't know if that was supposed to say that she approved but I just didn't like the idea in general.
The ceremony was beautiful the 'Priest' was right, for two people that want to speed it up they can talk.Luka's vows were just spot on not too much cheese or expectation but just tear-jerking words.Whilst Abby's was amazing even if she didn't have time to prepare.Just hearing her tell Luka she loves him would of done because it took so much for her to be able to say that. But topped with the poem by e.e cumming's it was beautiful, those words where just so right for Luka and Abby even during the break up they stood by each other and always found each other. I think I breathed for the first time once they had kissed, seven years waiting and it was definetly worth it.
Hope did a great Job and it was great to see Abby thank her.The whole Neela situation was just like woooh she is seriously popular but I didn't agree with the whole Ray and Gates fight included in this episode it spoilt the mood of the episode.
The one thing I could not stand was the ending, why the need to include someone getting hit by a truck in a wedding episode.I understand they may of needed to add some action but please 7 years, 7 years and they go and spoil it with that. What was wrong with that being an ending for the season? Awesome Episode, beautiful writing and Acting the chemistry between Maura and Goran was Phenomenal in this episode.

ER Lights Out Avg Score: 8.59 Total Ratings: 106 Total Reviews: 12 |
It was interesting to watch the ER dealing with patient care even with the threat of closure in 8 hours, just brings about how the ER carries on. It was just so weird to see the Lights go out and not see the bustling of patients and staff!
So everyone was being posted elsewhere which incurred some humourous scenes with Timmy being sent to the Cafeteria.I liked the input of the line about Abby going to NICU suttle but effective a sly reminder of the past maybe for purposes of future storylines in which it would not be the right place to bring them up ?
Gates got what was coming to him, I don't particluarly like the guy and I was happy to see that smirk wiped off his face.Morris was spot on and he begins to grow on me i enjoyed watching his little I was right dance type thing.
Which brings me on too another scene I found hilarious that in which Morris revealed to Luka that Abby was in the room when Gates performed a procedure without orders.Just to see Morris tell Abby he might send her home with Luka standing behind her with a stern look on his face was classic! I always enjoy the slightly of friendly banter between the pair of them!
Finally a Life changing decision from Luka, resigning as Chief...his reasons were valid and in some ways I think all that pressure was a factor of his decision along with the lack of time with Joe and Abby!

One Tree Hill Songs to Love and Die By Avg Score: 9.14 Total Ratings: 509 Total Reviews: 70 |
The storyline was well written and i liked the way they showed the impact Lucas has had without realising it. On Brooke, Peyton, Nathan his mum and Hayley. I liked that Lucas kept saying Keith was rubbish at being an "angel" it brought some of their chemistry back and added some humour to a somewhat morbid episode.
Both Peyton and Brooke agreed they could never go back to how they were. Yet they both pleaded with Hayley and Lucas to wake up so they could take care of each other. Hayley for Brooke and Lucas for Peyton; a sign they do still both care... alot.
Glad to see both Hayley and Lucas wake up, but what did Lucas see? The killer or a witness?

Grey's Anatomy Losing My Religion Avg Score: 9.25 Total Ratings: 780 Total Reviews: 101 Users who agree: 1 |
Meredith slept with Derek again ; I don't understand her motive this time but hey it could spell a relationship between the two and yet at the expense of Finn and Addison.Meredith was obviously torn between the two Men with scenes at the end showing her Indecision.
Christina finally took charge and expressed her feeling for burke by showing him support- even though the chief didn't reveal how to stay smooth i think he told her what she needed to realise.
Tear jerker a real shame to see Denny die but the episode was written well and the editing with the camera shots and music added to the feel of the episode!

Grey's Anatomy Deterioration of the Fight or Flight Response Avg Score: 9.25 Total Ratings: 531 Total Reviews: 34 |
Derek had Burke's life in his hands after he was shot! He handled it well whilst Christina found it difficult to take control resulting in Burke being unsure about her feelings.
The chief's niece came to the hospital and it was discovered her cancer was back delaying her Prom.. forever?
An action packed episode ; hard not to cry on some parts.
