Sealab 2021 Red Dawn Avg Score: 9.14 Total Ratings: 23 Total Reviews: 1 |
It's a shame that there are no writing credits for this episode because it is in my opinion, the finest episode produced from 7030. Sealab 2021 is best known for its random humor and occasional pointlessness/stupidity, but for those who doubt the ability of the writers, this episode displays clever satire and parody using the Cold War and the Russian Revolution as a vehicle.
For those who have an interest in history comedies, this will deliver flawlessly.

Clerks Episode #2 Avg Score: 9.22 Total Ratings: 52 Total Reviews: 5 Users who agree: 1 |
The second/last episode to air on ABC was unfortunately, horribly timed. While watched after the legal episode, this episode was deprived of its main joke, which referenced the original pilot.
The dvd does the episode justice though, as it can be viewed right after the first episode.
The entire story is a giant parody of flashback episodes that are basically filler episodes to allow for cheap and innefective writing, which is basically how this episode is written, only it's actually funny, because its the second episode.
Whoa, I rambled on way to long for this, but you get the idea.

Clone High, USA A Room of One's Clone: The Pie of the Storm Avg Score: 9.19 Total Ratings: 37 Total Reviews: 1 Users who agree: 1 |
To start, this is only the second episode since the pilot that actually move the plot of the series, the first one, of course, being Plane Crazy; Gate Expectations, which makes it a bit of different viewing experience than the regular assortment of pop culture references that put together the episodes.
A story is hilariously told while at the same time, referencing The Civil War, and including a smashing tribute to British slapstick at the end, complete with pie fights and men in drag.

Clone High, USA Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts Avg Score: 9.00 Total Ratings: 42 Total Reviews: 2 Users who agree: 1 Users who disagree: 1 |
Clone High has been about pop culture from it's pilot, but this episode not only makes several clever psychadelic references, but can also be called a rock opera in it's own right. Liam Lynch, music writer for the show, plays a more critical part than usual in this episode, but lives up to the task of making the viewer feel like he/she is in the 60s.
Within this music, are of course tributes to The Who's Tommy, Pink Floyd's The Wall, and Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

Futurama Space Pilot 3000 Avg Score: 9.30 Total Ratings: 480 Total Reviews: 54 |
Matt Groening didn't just slap an episode together. He placed many plot elements and secrets that would drive the show, and pay off in later episodes. Nothing is left to chance here, and the jokes are great. The animation is at decent shape here, but its clear that the voice actors were still trying to find their true forms.
