A friend of Dan's who is a cop comes to visit from San Francisco, where someone has been murdering cops and taunting them by telling them that their death will be linked to a particular number. But the killer has followed him and plants a bomb and the number in his car, which Dan sees just before it blows up. Dan then decides to go to San Francisco to get revenge on the killer.
