Proberly the best drama ever made for teens. hide show

Proberly the best teen drama ever made intelligent witty and heart felt one of the few shows made for my age group that didn't asume all sixteen year old's were stupid, it had clever story lines that kept the audience guessing and an incredible cast, with incredible chemistry this show gave me hope for the teen drama genre beyond shows like 90210 and Gossip Girl, it was a sad day for television and me when this ended as we were left with untied up story lines unfinished buisness an incomplete cast finish and the most troubling question of all
Will Veronica and Logan get back together!!! (dun dun dun)

sadley our questions will never be answered good bye veronica mars.

    They robbed us hide show

Usually shows run to long. They add seasons and sub-plots just to milk the cow when a show becomes a sucsess. Some shows like Prison Break starts out great, but they early realise they have a sucsess at hand, and they begin to develop the show to ensure additional season. Usually that's about when I lose interest in the show. The quality of the original storyline drops faster then the additional advertisement money comes in for the channels, and I move on to other shows.

Veronica Mars is THE one show they managed to rob from us. A show of such quality, and then getting cancelled without ever being able to play out the story they were entitled to.

Looking at my shows and the shows I've reviewed it doesn't take much of an eye to realise I'm purely in the middle of the audience they could hit. I watch alot of teen/hish school dramas and alot of crime/cop shows (with alot of weak quality as well as those really good ones). Veronica Mars manages to combine those genres for all its worth and it's (mostly) done with such grace and quality, it's no wonder I just love it.

To me the Veronica Mars character is the essence of the show. I just love Kristen Bell in this role. She manages to keep Veronica Mars from being a overdone parody of the teen PI, while keeping the emotions of relationships credible.

Next on my pro-list for this show is the father-daughter part of it. Enrico Colantoni does a great job as Keith Mars and the show stays true to the relationship between Veronica and Keith as one of the major part of the show. In many ways much of the same I see in Friday Night Lights between Coach Taylor and daughter Julie, but those Mars' stays away from most of the relationship related talks. It's more on the trust issues and the way they have these funny interactions. (Enrico Colantino does a great job so far in FlashPoint as well. Highly recommended.)

Percy Daggs III, Jason Dohring, Teddy Dunn, Chris Lowell and Francis Capra have never been among my reasons to watch the show, unlike for some girls I guess, but especially the roles of Weevil, Logan and Wallace are all very important for the show. These roles interactions with Veronica at the different levels are a huge part of the reason it keeps going strong.

Much of the power within this show is how they manage to keep the deeper plots running, while keeping Veronica busy with smaller cases along the way. They never trap themself to having cases having to be solved in every episode, and they keep the important plot slowly going forward and side-rails those in style.

If I had done the show, I would have aimed and spent one more season at high school. Mostly because I feel there was alot of options to create really good substories as her reputation at Neptune High developed. There would have been alot of possibilities to use the fear of her revenge among her class-mates, possibilities to use the Weevel gang relation more and possibilities to give Veronica Mars more of a personal life among both friends, girlfriends like Mac and lovelife.

Much more important is the way we got robbed for more time at Hearst College. I know the show was more or less pulled as they did a last grasp season 4 presentation of Veronica as FBI agent in her first year. Honestly I didn't like it at all (can be seen at season 3 extras). I feel it would have robbed the audience for too much of the important stuff they built in season 3, so in the end it might have been for the best that didn't allow a season 4 (as it was picthed at least). It's still nothing but a huge robbery they didn't get to do the show as they intended with new seasons at Hearst. The Logan angle got increasingly interesting, while Mac, Weevil and Wallace also had alot more to offer. Not to mention the new Kane angle of the secrets from The Castle.

I've just gone a rerun through the entire show, and it's easy to stand by my show score.

Witt, sarcasm, humour, irony, dialogs with references, noir and Veronica's thoughts and her personality is the main reasons I love all the rest as well, and it's all done so brilliantly. Veronica Mars is in my mind the show they never should have cancelled at the stage they did. Highly recommended, and not too far from a show deserving my 2nd 10 ever at tv.com. I still feel robbed.

The day TV died. hide show

When the CW cancelled Gilmore Girls AND Veronica Mars two years ago, they really killed the only two decent shows they had.

I mean, what's not to like about Veronica Mars? The storylines were just awesome, the cast was brilliant and the dialogues were so clever and funny. When I see that some shows like 7th Heaven, 90210, Gossip Girl (no offense for the fans) and so many others are renewed over and over again I really don't understand why VM didn't get another shot. There were still so many stories to tell. It looked like Rob Thomas was planning a flash forward so that Veronica was already a FBI agent.
That would have been so cool.
And what about Vinnie being a sherif? Keith being a PI again? Dick and Mac getting closer? Wallace becoming a Doctor Without Border?
And more importantly what about Veronica and Logan?

Yes, the show was great from beginning to end but I still feel a little bitter about the fact that Veronica and Logan didn't get back together at the end. At least not officially because the way they looked at each other in the cafeteria left no doubt as to how they felt for each other.

This couple is certainly one of the best ever seen on TV along with Luke and Lorelai and Tony and Ziva (IMO). Logan was so right when he said that their story was epic.
That's what I liked about them. Things were not easy between them. They hurt each other a lot, but their passion was so dense.
    They deserved a better ending.

Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that a movie/TV movie will someday come out. That would be a great reward for the devoted and faitfhful fans but also for the show itself that deserved a decent closure.

One of the most memorable and enthusiastic show that has ever been on Tv. It starts a little slow but definitely pulls up as the show continues. hide show

there is very few series that actually can be considered drool worthy with its smart writting. VW is one of them, the pleasure of actual smart comments together with the mind blowing pop culture references, that we have seen in the like of buffy cannot be ignored. So yeah, if you're reading this, you've already probably watched it...but if you haven't seriously give it a shot. It has a lot more to offer than Kristen Bell's hotness and what can be described in a plot summary. The wit, banter, and thrilling conclusions to the large mysteries and more just keep you watching, laughing, and loving it.

It's only sad that the show had to be cancelled because it was great.
