The phony-looking monster is also seen in the Lost In Space episode "The Anti-Matter Man". Mercifully, he did not speak in that one..
(edit)
The first crewman killed by the creature is a gent named "Ray" (played by Basehart stand-in and regular background and voice man Ray Didsbury). Needless to say, Ray turns up in later episodes very much alive. Obviously, we were not meant to notice (this would happen on episodes of Star Trek as well).
(edit)
Alien: Please Captain, you are in no position to make idle threats, and revenge is certainly one of the weakest of human emotions.
(edit)
Uncredited roles:
Jock Gaynor (Alien leader), Ray Didsbury (Ray), Ted Jordan (Crewman), Darryl McFadden (Alien) (edit) From Science Fiction Television Series: According to Jock Gaynor, the combination of rubber costume and hot lights caused him to lose 12 pounds during filming. (edit)
