(edit) Terry Becker is back as Chief Sharkey after missing the last third of the second season. Allan Hunt, however, had left the series and would not be back. He did not return from Viet Nam until just after the series ended. (edit) The first extensive use of the Nuclear Reactor set. This is not the last time the dampening rods would be used for a threat or solution to an episode. The reactor prop was also used as the Tauron matter-transfer unit on the Lost In Space episode "Return from Outer Space." (edit)

There are two new innovations to kick off the third season. The Missile Room entry hatch (previously called the escape hatch) now has a tube-and-ball fixture so that the crew can easily see the water level inside. Also, Nelson's lab has been expanded; it now has a large holding tank built into a wall that has an emergency eject system. (edit) After his "accident", Chip Morton tells Nelson that he had been testing some switches when he was knocked out, but Lindsey had hit him right as he came into the room, before he could touch anything.
