Notes

add »
The closing credits are now shown against a piece of artwork--an underwater view of Seaview--rather than a camera still of the Flying Sub leaving the water. (edit)
Terry Becker is back as Chief Sharkey after missing the last third of the second season. Allan Hunt, however, had left the series and would not be back. He did not return from Viet Nam until just after the series ended. (edit)
The first extensive use of the Nuclear Reactor set. This is not the last time the dampening rods would be used for a threat or solution to an episode. The reactor prop was also used as the Tauron matter-transfer unit on the Lost In Space episode "Return from Outer Space." (edit)

Alien Brain: This ship will be my body and every man on board will be my slave. (edit)

Trivia

add »
There are two new innovations to kick off the third season. The Missile Room entry hatch (previously called the escape hatch) now has a tube-and-ball fixture so that the crew can easily see the water level inside. Also, Nelson's lab has been expanded; it now has a large holding tank built into a wall that has an emergency eject system. (edit)
After his "accident", Chip Morton tells Nelson that he had been testing some switches when he was knocked out, but Lindsey had hit him right as he came into the room, before he could touch anything. (edit)

"Exciting"
This is similar to a previous outing with an extraterrestrial life form coming aboard and preparing to take over the crew, the sub, and eventually the world, but it's pretty decently written, and has some marvelous special effects.
