According to the book Irwin Allen Productions, Allen has cited this episode as being one of his favorites. He loved old movie stars, and Francis X. Bushman was a famous silent star of the 1920's.

This was the last performance Francis X. Bushman ever gave. He passed away on August 23, 1966.

The Terrible ToysSuperb "Fine example" The premise of possessed toys is actually fairly common in both science fiction and horror. It's really creepy to see innocent toys used that way.
