The finish of the Hart/Golbderg match was homage to the 1997 Montreal WWF Survivor Series finish which also involved Bret Hart. The referee, Roddy Piper, called to have the bell rung when Bret Hart was still applying the sharpshooter to Goldberg. This was a close resemblance to the way Hart lost his last WWF match against Shawn Michaels.
