Amoeba Music Live Performances

Amoeba Music Live Performances are videos of live sets at one of three locations of Amoeba Music, the famed California independent record stores. Amoeba stores are peculiar for their large size, much larger than most indie music hot spots. The chain began in Berkeley, California in 1990, and went on to open locations in San Francisco and Hollywood. In addition to boasting a huge selection of CDs, records, tapes, and DVD's, the stores have some venue space where musicians can perform live shows. These shows are now filmed and made available on-line through amoeba.com. Past episodes have featured sets by The Go! Team, Elvis Costello, Mandy Moore, Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band, Band of Horses, and Aimee Mann. Other performers, like comedian Patton Oswalt, have even stopped by for gigs at one of the iconic stores.
