Gothenburg, Sweden may be most famous for spawning crushingly heavy death metal bands such as In Flames in the early 90s, but it is also home base to folk trio Junip, who have released a music video for "Always" off of their first full-length release Fields. Perhaps in a nod to their town's thriving metal scene, where the band first met over 10 years ago, the video features an angry man forcibly teaching the band to shred air guitar and (literally) carting them off to the Air Guitar Championships, where they sit in a little circle and happily strum the tune's bouncy chord progression while frontman Jose Gonzales (already famous as a solo artist for his 2003 album Veneer) sings his heart out. It's an entertaining concept to go with an upbeat song that's about as far from the so-called "Gothenburg Sound" as is humanly possible.moreless
