The goals of breast reconstruction have changed from simply replacing the ‘mound’ of the breast so that a woman can look normal in being able to totally preserve the appearance and texture of a normal breast. Dr. Hazen talks about implants and myocutaneous flaps, a type of reconstruction which uses a woman’s own tissues .
