Invincible is a fantasy superhero animated comic based on the Invincible comic book published by Image Comics and created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker for MTV that follows the life of teenager Mark Grayson, who spent most of his life waiting for that day he would inherit the superpowers of his father, Omni-Man, the world's greatest superhero. He had been a normal high school senior, the kind with a normal job, normal life doing homework, despising acne, and building up the nerves to talk to the girls, until his powers of super strength and flight took him by surprise. Of course, he does the one thing any normal super powered kid would do become a masked superhero! As Invincible, Mark fights crime, takes down evil scientists, and occasionally stops an alien invasion or two, all while dealing with a sinister force killing his father's old teammates and the dreaded homework. Invincible is considered the first of its kind in a process called Bomb-xx, developed by Gain, which turns actual comic book pages into pulsing and zooming panels with a musical soundtrack and actor-recited dialogue.moreless

The LXD, short for the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, is a web series from director John M. Chu about a group of dancers who also serve as a justice league of superheroes, even without traditional supernatural powers. Instead, they possess extraordinary powers of dance, and a mysterious outfit known as the LXD recruits them. There is also the hint of evil in the form of a shadow woven throughout the episodes, suggesting another entity that uses supernatural powers of dance in a bad way. As the story unfolds, it is told not just through dialogue but through extraordinary dance sequences that leave no question about why these dancer's abilities can turn them into superheroes. The actors on the show are relatively unknown except for their experience in the dance and choreography communities, with the notable exception of Harry Shum Jr., who stars as choir member Mike Chang on the hit Fox show Glee. The core group of the show's main characters has done performances opening for the Glee tour, on So You Think You Can Dance, and at The Oscars.moreless

Giggles: This shy and sweet little chipmunk will make you go "aww" with her "giggly" attitude.

Handy: This helpful carpenter beaver will give you a hand, or rather, what's left of it.Lumpy: The blue dim-witted moose, whose attempts at doing anything become a disaster warning.

Disco Bear: He's not dead...yet! This break-dancing bear likes to get his groove on and the disco ball off-of him.

Mime: The reindeer with actions that speak louder than words and won't shut up!

Lifty and Shifty: These thievious little raccoon brothers will swipe anything they can get their grubby little hands on. They just need to work on getting away with it.

Cro-Marmot: Literally, the first "inanimate character." This ice-encaved, prehistoric cave marmot will do "absolutely nothing" to make you laugh.

Flippy: War-torn and relieved of his military duties, this gentle bear veteran will reminisce old battles and "share" them with you personally.

Pop: The man of the house who does what he can to keep his son from danger, only to bring it to him.

Cub: Loveable, huggable, cutesy "cuddable" baby bear Cub loves to play and explore the world around him. Under the (sort of) watchful eye of Pop, he stays out of trouble and into danger. Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic is a violent historical motion web comic developed as a companion series to the Starz series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which follows the former warrior-turned gladiator, Spartacus (Andy Whitfield), viciously and doggedly fighting for his freedom. While the main series focuses on its namesake, Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic centers around Spartacus's companions and gladiatorial adversaries, all men with their own thirst for vengeance. Arkadios had once been a proud Greek warrior the Romans enslaved him and sold him as cruel entertainment on the sandy arena floor. The horrifying Gargan Twins, Decimus and Tiberius, had been born for the arena feral, evil, and cannibals and when they were captured, the legendary Crixus tries to take down the unstoppable devourers. Barca had not always been known as the Beast of Carthage when he failed to save his mother from the hands of the Roman marauders. Then, there was Theokoles, the Shadow of Death, a fighter no blade could touch, no man could defeat, every man feared. This companion series is a new style of motion comic that merges the visual appeal of traditional comic books with original voice acting and a musical score.moreless

Their goal is to find their way to the Sword of Fighting, and destroy it. The mythical blade is destined to topple the Wicked Kings and bring peace to the world, but doesn't really feel like it. Their quest leads them through the fantasy world of Fartherall, a land where intellectual orcs, incompetent wizards, and holy zombies are just the tip of the iceberg. The epic land of Fartherall and the creatures there provide a backdrop to a classic story of unrequited love, passion, and heroism, though not like most of the fantasy stories you've seen. With characters like Perf the terrible wizard who hates the quest, Nara the deadly but standoffish elf, the insane and loud Glorion, and The Assassin bent on killing the adventurers if they leave their quest, the cast is full of hilarious people and creatures. The Animatrix is a collection of 9 short films produced and commissioned by Matrix creators the Wachowski brothers, and is now available to view on TheWB.com. Each short was created by a different animator, ranked top in the world, and adds backstory and new chapters to the epic Sci-Fi trilogy. The shorts (or chapters) explain the origin of the machines, created by man to serve man. However, after many years of abuse, and eventual banishment, the machines rose against their makers in full-on man vs. machine war. Because the machines ran on solar energy, men darkened the sky, so machines imprisoned all of mankind for an alternative power source. They created the illusionary world of the matrix to mask their control. However there were cases of those inside the matrix breaking through. Like Neo from the trilogy, a high school boy realized the truth from the computer; An athlete pushes himself passed what should be physically possible and awakens (even if just for a second); a detective finds a pattern that takes him to the truth. The Animatrix also served as part of an arching larger story combining subplots from the films and the video game "Enter the Matrix" One such connection is the chapter titled "Final Flight of the Osiris" where a lost ship comes upon an army of machines drilling straight down towards the last human city of Zion (which is the premise for the final film). Keanu Reaves and Carrie-Anne Moss lend their voices.moreless

Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy is a series of web based shorts from the creator of Family Guy. The episodes are in the form of the cutaway gags that are used frequently in Family Guy and have a similar tone of lampooning figure in popular culture. The shorts all share biting satire and the use of absurd elements to show pop culture in a different light. 23 episodes were released online, with an additional 27 shorts available on the DVD. The premiere episode 'Super Mario Rescues the Princess' highlights satirical way that the shorts apply real life behavior to pop culture staples. After defeating the dragon, Mario asks Princess for a kiss for rescuing her, and the Princess refuses. The two then get into a long, humorous argument about the difficulty Mario had go through to save the Princess and why she won't kiss him. Eventually, Mario gives up and leaves, letting the dragon he previously defeated kill the Princess. The shorts run about one to two minutes and include an intro animated segment from the sponsor.moreless
