Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic

Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic

    Starz
Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic is a violent historical motion web comic developed as a companion series to the Starz series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which follows the former warrior-turned gladiator, Spartacus (Andy Whitfield), viciously and doggedly fighting for his freedom. While the main series focuses on its namesake, Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Motion Comic centers around Spartacus's companions and gladiatorial adversaries, all men with their own thirst for vengeance. Arkadios had once been a proud Greek warrior the Romans enslaved him and sold him as cruel entertainment on the sandy arena floor. The horrifying Gargan Twins, Decimus and Tiberius, had been born for the arena feral, evil, and cannibals and when they were captured, the legendary Crixus tries to take down the unstoppable devourers. Barca had not always been known as the Beast of Carthage when he failed to save his mother from the hands of the Roman marauders. Then, there was Theokoles, the Shadow of Death, a fighter no blade could touch, no man could defeat, every man feared. This companion series is a new style of motion comic that merges the visual appeal of traditional comic books with original voice acting and a musical score.moreless

Flippy: War-torn and relieved of his military duties, this gentle bear veteran will reminisce old battles and "share" them with you personally.

Pop: The man of the house who does what he can to keep his son from danger, only to bring it to him.

Cub: Loveable, huggable, cutesy "cuddable" baby bear Cub loves to play and explore the world around him. Under the (sort of) watchful eye of Pop, he stays out of trouble and into danger.moreless

    Dexter: Early Cuts

    Dexter: Early Cuts

    Showtime
Dexter: Early Cuts is a Showtime exclusive glimpse into Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) from the original series Dexter, based on the Darkly Dreaming Dexter books by Jeff Lindsay, from before we met him on the show. Hall's voice narrates over the animated series, which shows Dexter's early work murdering serial killers to keep Miami safe from harm. The mini webisodes are only a few minutes long, but in a few of them we can follow the history of killers, their motivation and how Dexter discovers them. He then meticulously plans how he will kill them, making sure he won't be caught. His methods and locations of murder are always specific to his victims and the crimes they have committed. Early Cuts shows us Dexter's practice runs, before the drama of the show and familiarizes us with Dexter's own brand of justice before he exercised it on villains like the ice truck killer.moreless

30 Days of Night: Blood Trails

    Fear Net
30 Days of Night: Blood Trails is a seven-part horror miniseries developed for FEARnet.com that centers around a young addict named George (Andrew Laurich) who makes his living searching out covert information worthy enough to sell to a New Orleans-based vampire hunter, Judith. Blood Trails is set two days before the events of the movie, 30 Days of Night, and is based on a subplot originally found in the original horror graphic novel by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. The series starts with a blood-covered George running towards a police officer before shifting to the two days prior where Judith hands him his task, hoping it'd be the last before he left New Orleans to start a new life with his girlfriend Jenny. This task isn't an easy one with everyone involved meeting a bloody end, always just after they decoded the next line of information. To make it even harder to get out alive, there's a vampire trying to stop him from delivering the message, which is cryptic as it mentions a feeding in Barrow, Alaska starting the next night. 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails is followed by the six-part miniseries 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust. Both of the miniseries lead to the horrific events of 30 Days of Night.moreless

Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy

Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy
Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy is a series of web based shorts from the creator of Family Guy. The episodes are in the form of the cutaway gags that are used frequently in Family Guy and have a similar tone of lampooning figure in popular culture. The shorts all share biting satire and the use of absurd elements to show pop culture in a different light. 23 episodes were released online, with an additional 27 shorts available on the DVD. The premiere episode 'Super Mario Rescues the Princess' highlights satirical way that the shorts apply real life behavior to pop culture staples. After defeating the dragon, Mario asks Princess for a kiss for rescuing her, and the Princess refuses. The two then get into a long, humorous argument about the difficulty Mario had go through to save the Princess and why she won't kiss him. Eventually, Mario gives up and leaves, letting the dragon he previously defeated kill the Princess. The shorts run about one to two minutes and include an intro animated segment from the sponsor.moreless

    The LXD

    The LXD

    The LXD
The LXD, short for the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, is a web series from director John M. Chu about a group of dancers who also serve as a justice league of superheroes, even without traditional supernatural powers. Instead, they possess extraordinary powers of dance, and a mysterious outfit known as the LXD recruits them. There is also the hint of evil in the form of a shadow woven throughout the episodes, suggesting another entity that uses supernatural powers of dance in a bad way. As the story unfolds, it is told not just through dialogue but through extraordinary dance sequences that leave no question about why these dancer's abilities can turn them into superheroes. The actors on the show are relatively unknown except for their experience in the dance and choreography communities, with the notable exception of Harry Shum Jr., who stars as choir member Mike Chang on the hit Fox show Glee. The core group of the show's main characters has done performances opening for the Glee tour, on So You Think You Can Dance, and at The Oscars.moreless
