    Children's Guide to Growing Up

    Children's Guide to Growing Up

    Funny or Die
Children's Guide to Growing Up is a Flash-animated satire from creator Ryan Naumann. Narrated by Luke Adams, these three-minute comedy shorts are a parody of 1950s public school instructional videos. In each short, a different topic is explored. From death and sex to immigration and genocide, no subject is safe from the satiric and often sarcastic comedic attack of the show's writers. The stories appear from the perspective of an enthusiastic, off-screen narrator. He interacts with a cast of kids who ask questions and learn life's lessons from the answers. In Animal Rights, Lucy and a trio of boys visit a meat-packing plant and witness a cow's slaughter while sarcastically attacking the views of animal rights activists. In Religion, the kids play dress-up as the narrator compares religion to a mere marketing tool for money-hungry zealots. Other segments act as how-to guides for having sex as a teen, creating an action comedy movie and coping with the loss of a friend.moreless

    Stephen King's N

    Stephen King's N

    Stephen King's N
Stephen King's N is an animated web original presented by novelist Stephen King and based on his horror novella, "N." The story focuses mostly around Dr. John Bonsaint, a psychiatrist who has been deeply affected by a patient he refers to only as "N." N believes that there is a circle of stones in town that leads to reality unlike ours where a horrifying creature named Cthun lives. N tells John that Cthun is trying to break free of his reality to join ours. John diagnoses N with obsessive-compulsive disorder and puts no weight in N's ramblings. However, once N commits suicide, John begins to suffer the same symptoms his dead patient. Perhaps N wasn't so crazy after all. Stephen King's N is a series of short videos that pays homage to comic book art and graphics. Alex Maleev and colorist José Villarrubia are responsible for the art of the episodes, and actors such as Ben Shenkman offer their voices to bring "N" to life. The first episode was first available online in July of 2008, and it was produced by Scribner, Simon and Schuster Digital, CBS Mobile, and Marvel Entertainment. Although many of the author's novels and novellas have been made into films in the past, such as Tommyknockers, Thinner, Carrie, Christine, The Stand, Misery and The Shining, Stephen King's N brings his work to the Internet for the technologically minded new generation.moreless

    My Damn Channel
Carnival of Stuff is an online channel that features clever comedic storytelling, skits, and animation. Produced by Steve Kerper and David Kolin, it features videos like the cartoon retelling of classic fairy tales with some decidedly adult-oriented revisions. What if Hansel and Gretel were profane lubricant salesmen? What if Rapunzel's prince had a murderous streak? The videos are a hilarious break from the insular safety of the fairy tale world. There are also videos called "Hardcore TV" in which the famous cartoon character plays Raging Bullwinkle, a spoof on Robert De Niro's role. Follow the "Invasion" series, in which a group of aliens hell-bent on taking over the earth come down and discover the more banal parts of human life, like stepping on a cow pie or getting turned into the playthings of a mischievous little girl. Carnival of Stuff is a hilarious remaking of the genre of children's stories and more.moreless
