Noah Comprende is a cartoon web series from the PBS Kids GO site. The webisodes are a fun way to introduce six- to eight-year-old English-speaking children to the Spanish language. Noah, a nine-year-old boy, is visiting his grandmother, "Abuela," in a Spanish-speaking region. Noah, who is an English speaker, faces a significant language barrier and his intelligent pet mouse, Peque''o, who can only squeak, faces a humorously bigger one. In each short webisode, Noah's limited knowledge of the Spanish language leads to a comedic misunderstanding which Noah must rectify, learning more Spanish along the way. Children watching learn along with Noah. Children will receive an introduction to common Spanish vocabulary and simple phrases. The Noah Comprende video player itself is interactive. Children are able to hear the vocabulary words for various objects on the screen by moving their mouse pointer over the objects. Each webisode also integrates short, embedded arcade-style games to help involve children in learning Spanish.moreless
