LaMB is a 2009 Japanese anime film from director Ryosuke Tei that portrays a gripping and startling image of a futuristic world where people convicted of serious crimes are imprisoned in laminated suits that strip them of their free will, creating a highly-debated system of virtual enslavement. The film follows Major Sara Integra, a former bio-weapons specialist who inadvertently caused the deaths of many innocent people while on a military assignment. Following the tragedy, Sara was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 200 years as a LaMB, a prisoner in a laminated suit. Each LaMB receives a Shepherd, who is responsible for controlling the LaMB's every move. Sara's Shepherd, Jack Griswold, is a compassionate man recovering from the sudden death of his wife. As the story progresses, Griswold and Sara develop an unusual relationship while operating under the authority of the vengeful prison superior Keiko Suzuki. LaMB is an intriguing and inventive film that tells a touching character story set in a visionary sci-fi world.moreless

Hidden Frontier is set after the Dominion War featured in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. When Rob Caves, Executive Producer created Hidden Frontier, he wanted to combine the best elements of the Next Generation era Trek shows he grew up with. On Hidden Frontier, we have a space station, Deep Space Twelve, as well as a starship, the Galaxy Class U.S.S. Excelsior, NCC-77246. This allows us to explore the Star Trek universe in just about any way our writers can imagine. The series is set against the backdrop of the Briar Patch, a massive unexplored nebula on the fringe of explored space that was introduced in "Star Trek: Insurrection". Because of the composition of the Patch, warp travel there is impossible, so much of it's interior remains unexplored. We encourage new viewers to "try us out" with our season 6 premiere episode, "Countermeasures". It's an episode that highlights many of our strengths. Then we welcome you to go back to the pilot and start watching from the beginning bearing in mind that it took us time to improve the quality of all aspects of the show to what it is today. It's important to remember that Hidden Frontier is produced on no budget so instead of building fancy sets, piling on effects, and shooting in exotic locations, we've decided to focus on what we can improve. That means our stories became more character driven as the show evolved. After all, that's what Star Trek is really about. The people, and the human condition. Once the writing improved, we started to tackle areas like costuming and makeup. Hidden Frontier tries to boldly follow what has come before while exploring new issues Star Trek has not yet tackled. The inclusion of a gay male character in season 2's "Encke" was yet another bold step forward for Star Trek. In the very same season we produced, "Cowards Death", a story that explored the realities of living with clinical depression.moreless

Imaginary Bitches is a web series created and directed by Andrew Miller. It consists of 13 episodes between five and seven minutes in length. It premiered on May 2nd, 2008 and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2009. Eden (Eden Riegel) is the last of her friends to still be single, a fact that contributes to her flagging self-confidence and feelings of loneliness. Lizzie (Elizabeth Hendrickson), Brooke (Brooke Nevin), and Connie (Connie Fletcher-Staton) are her closest friends, but are always busy with their own lives and relationships, which causes Eden to feel even more lonely. She creates The Bitches to have someone to talk to. Soon, her imaginary friends start developing their own personalities and turn out to actually be bitches. The crew of the series has some very close ties themselves: Andrew and Eden are married; Eden's half-sister Tatiana S. Riegel (known for her editing on "Lars and the Real Girl" and "There Will Be Blood" and the winner of an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for the HBO film "PU-239") edits the show; Eden's brother, Sam Reigel, co-wrote an episode and did the sound editing for the first two episodes; and his wife, Quyen Tran, is the show's cinematographer.moreless

The Animatrix is a collection of 9 short films produced and commissioned by Matrix creators the Wachowski brothers, and is now available to view on TheWB.com. Each short was created by a different animator, ranked top in the world, and adds backstory and new chapters to the epic Sci-Fi trilogy. The shorts (or chapters) explain the origin of the machines, created by man to serve man. However, after many years of abuse, and eventual banishment, the machines rose against their makers in full-on man vs. machine war. Because the machines ran on solar energy, men darkened the sky, so machines imprisoned all of mankind for an alternative power source. They created the illusionary world of the matrix to mask their control. However there were cases of those inside the matrix breaking through. Like Neo from the trilogy, a high school boy realized the truth from the computer; An athlete pushes himself passed what should be physically possible and awakens (even if just for a second); a detective finds a pattern that takes him to the truth. The Animatrix also served as part of an arching larger story combining subplots from the films and the video game "Enter the Matrix" One such connection is the chapter titled "Final Flight of the Osiris" where a lost ship comes upon an army of machines drilling straight down towards the last human city of Zion (which is the premise for the final film). Keanu Reaves and Carrie-Anne Moss lend their voices.moreless
