With interviews, music videos and exclusive programs the show introduces the viewer to new artists and music, helping independent musicians gain visibility. For now a partner site serves as the host for the web episodes, but soon they will get their own web site. It will have several more programs, episodes and hundreds of official band videos, but while that doesn't happen, the web episodes follow bands on tour, promote new records, concerts and more. They explore not only Hip Hop, but all branches of independent music such as Electronic and Rock, interviewing DJ's and other musicians to help promote them and different music scenes to the audience. Searching for new stories all across the country, but having a focus on Los Angeles, Not MTV is definitely not your typical music web channel.moreless

    Ask Palpatine
Ask Palpatine is a Star Wars themed comedic puppet show featuring that most misunderstood Dark Lord of the Sith, Emperor Palpatine. Palpatine rose to power as the Senator of Naboo. His public persona was one of civil service and loyalty, which garnered him respect throughout the Senate. This respect led, eventually, to his successful campaign for Supreme Chancellor. Things seemed to be going great. Little did anyone know, Palpatine had a dark side, he had THE Dark Side. While Palpatine ran the government as per usual, his alter ego, Darth Sidious, made plans to start the Clone Wars, get rid of all the Jedi Knights, and basically kick start the plot for the Star Wars franchise. But hey, everybody knows this stuff, what people really want to figure out is: what makes this guy tick? What's he like? Would I want to hang out with him? This is the premise behind Ask Palpatine. Palpatine talks about himself, his beliefs, and his world view. Always enlightening, never a dull moment, Ask Palpatine brings you the man as you've never seen him before.moreless

Road To November is a web-based video series, produced by the New York Times, and released on their official website. For this series, Times journalists Jennifer Steinhauer and Monica Almeida traveled the breadth of the continental United States, from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. Over the course of their 2,900-mile quest, mostly Steinhauer and Almeida interviewed a number of voters in hotly contested swing states like Iowa, Nebraska, and New Jersey. The series' title was a play on words, referring to the nearing election, and to the specifics of the journey, which was largely made by car, on Interstate 80. Highlights from the series include the journalists' stop in Naperville, Illinois, a highly republican area with very mixed feelings about Illinois' most famous adopted son, then presidential hopeful Barack Obama. In another notable episode, Steinhauer and Almeida stopped in Omaha to witness a massive campaign rally headed by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. This rally made an impression on both journalists, who noted the intense, almost worshipful response of the crowd to Palin and presidential candidate John McCain.moreless

Yacht Rock is an original Web series on the popular website Channel 101. J.D. Ryznar and Hunter D. Stair created and star in this fictional retelling of the stories behind some of America's most famous soft rock stars of the 1970s and early 1980s. Comparable to a fictionalized version of VH1's "Behind the Music," Yacht Rock details the sometimes mythical origins behind the songs belonging to artists like Kenny Loggins, Hall and Oates, Michael Jackson, Michael McDonald, and more. The series was created because of Ryznar and Stair's fascination with the collaborative recording careers between bands like Steely Dan, Toto, and the Doobie Brothers. As such, this series parodies the incestuous nature of the soft rock music industry in the late 70s, and satirizes the songwriting process between well-known artists of the time, as well as their relationships with each other. Ever entertaining and always aiming for laughs, Yacht Rock has been going strong on Channel 101 since 2005.moreless
