Road To November is a web-based video series, produced by the New York Times, and released on their official website. For this series, Times journalists Jennifer Steinhauer and Monica Almeida traveled the breadth of the continental United States, from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. Over the course of their 2,900-mile quest, mostly Steinhauer and Almeida interviewed a number of voters in hotly contested swing states like Iowa, Nebraska, and New Jersey. The series' title was a play on words, referring to the nearing election, and to the specifics of the journey, which was largely made by car, on Interstate 80. Highlights from the series include the journalists' stop in Naperville, Illinois, a highly republican area with very mixed feelings about Illinois' most famous adopted son, then presidential hopeful Barack Obama. In another notable episode, Steinhauer and Almeida stopped in Omaha to witness a massive campaign rally headed by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. This rally made an impression on both journalists, who noted the intense, almost worshipful response of the crowd to Palin and presidential candidate John McCain.moreless

Yacht Rock is an original Web series on the popular website Channel 101. J.D. Ryznar and Hunter D. Stair created and star in this fictional retelling of the stories behind some of America's most famous soft rock stars of the 1970s and early 1980s. Comparable to a fictionalized version of VH1's "Behind the Music," Yacht Rock details the sometimes mythical origins behind the songs belonging to artists like Kenny Loggins, Hall and Oates, Michael Jackson, Michael McDonald, and more. The series was created because of Ryznar and Stair's fascination with the collaborative recording careers between bands like Steely Dan, Toto, and the Doobie Brothers. As such, this series parodies the incestuous nature of the soft rock music industry in the late 70s, and satirizes the songwriting process between well-known artists of the time, as well as their relationships with each other. Ever entertaining and always aiming for laughs, Yacht Rock has been going strong on Channel 101 since 2005.moreless

The clicker production company from CBS brings to life strange tidbits through cartoon characters that play out scenarios as they occurred during the Games. The clips deal with mostly adult content, as shown in one clip when a playboy athlete's horse also becomes a womanizer after the animal takes an interest in a feline during a polo match. Another video documents the different assaults, robberies and vulgar behavior that the Olympics have endured over its 100-year history. Eating a bad sandwich and drinking tainted water while running a marathon also comes into focus when the web series animates what happened to one participant during the 1928 Olympic Games. The web show also advises all women weightlifting competitors to wear proper underwear or the judges may find out that they are actually a man, as one Soviet athlete suffered during the 1964 Tokyo games. Denis Leary Remembers Denis Leary Movies is a two-part web video series from Funny Or Die that stars acclaimed comedian, actor, and author Denis Leary as he looks through a list of every film he's ever acted in, identifying the movies he thinks truly stand the test of time as well as the many flops that he admits were just a paycheck. This web special was created in support of Leary's 2008 book "Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid." Leary approaches the list of the forty-seven films he's been in with his trademark sarcasm, unashamedly remembering some of the less-successful projects he's been associated with. Denis Leary has been making regular film appearances since the early 1990s, and even by his count not all of them are worth seeing. In fact, most of them he hasn't seen himself, and can't honestly say whether anyone else should. However, he's full of hilarious quips and behind-the-scenes tidbits about what he does remember from his days on set. Denis Leary Remembers Denis Leary Movies is a fun web special featuring one of the most prolific, if not always the most successful, actors of our time.moreless
