Children's Guide to Growing Up

Show Summary

Children's Guide to Growing Up is a Flash-animated satire from creator Ryan Naumann. Narrated by Luke Adams, these three-minute comedy shorts are a parody of 1950s public school instructional videos. In each short, a different topic is explored. From death and sex to immigration and genocide, no subject is safe from the satiric and often sarcastic comedic attack of the show's writers. The stories appear from the perspective of an enthusiastic, off-screen narrator. He interacts with a cast of kids who ask questions and learn life's lessons from the answers. In Animal Rights, Lucy and a trio of boys visit a meat-packing plant and witness a cow's slaughter while sarcastically attacking the views of animal rights activists. In Religion, the kids play dress-up as the narrator compares religion to a mere marketing tool for money-hungry zealots. Other segments act as how-to guides for having sex as a teen, creating an action comedy movie and coping with the loss of a friend.
