Episode Summary

This was a collaborative project I worked on as a producer with a good friend of mine named David Whitlow. We created it as an entry for a film festival in Milan, Italy under the category Domestic violence. It's a simple piece that carries much weight and meaning despite its lack of complexity. While we both have our own ideas of what this piece means, we were very interested in creating something visually rich, yet simple, that would serve as a basis for discussion and thought. Everyone is going to interpret what this means in very different ways, and that's something David and I embraced as a possibility when we crafted this. Some people will love it, some people might be offended at its subject matter, others might think its dumb... but part of the allure of this type of work is that it can affect people several ways. We like that. Share it with people you know and see what they think. 'Habibti' is Arabic for "my love" or "sweetheart" when referring informally to a female. This was shot at 120fps on the RED one camera using a 21mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss lens. All the post processing was done in After Effects using the Twixtor plugin. Enjoy.moreless
