Episode Summary

Hi, I'm Austin.
So I got word of this contest TurboTax was hosting to make a quick 30 sec ad for this new service they have. Now before you go on about "oh gosh another contest"... I like (for the most part) doing contests because it gives me a) a reason to actually do something new and not drown in the work that I probably should/need to be doing b) comes with a nice potential prize c) gives me parameters to work within (you know, like a deadline, which basically is necessary for me to actually accomplish anything) and d) at the very least gives me something extra to add to my portfolio. So I said, "I'll bite" and took a stab at this TurboTax project with this idea I'd been wanting to use for a while. I spent about 2 hours directing Austin on what to say and talk about, and about 10 hours in post over a day or two. So here it is. I shot it on a Canon 7D. Sound was done externally using a Zoom H4N and synced up using the PluralEyes plugin. Edited/graded in Final Cut Pro... and all the motion graphics were done in After Effects after being drawn by hand in photoshop with my nifty pen tablet. Enjoymoreless
