Show Summary

Cinemassacre is James Rolfe's (The Angry Video Game Nerd) movie review show. Rolfe writes and produces every episode by himself. Through his style, tone, and attention to detail, it's obvious that he is, at his core, a fan. This is a regular guy who loves watching movies. Unlike The Angry Video Game Nerd, in which video games are ripped apart and ridiculed, Cinemassacre is calm, composed, and thoughtful, even when he doesn't like what's happening on the screen. The movies he reviews are not upcoming releases. Most are from the 70's and 80's, which means Rolfe is talking about the films of his childhood. It also means that he has 20+ years of opinions built up. He's going to tell you all about them, and you're going to love it. The amount of insight and comedy he is able to bring to these oft-discussed classics is staggering.

  • Forget King of the Nerds, James and Mike Are The Gods

Run by James Rolfe (whom I've already stated was my hero), and his best friend Mike Matei, this is an amazing web site. In addition to being one of the host sites for the Angry Video Game Nerd, along with Gametrailers and Screwattack, Cinemassacre also has Board James, a series about a kid at heart who reviews board games along with his friends Motherfucker Mike, and Bad Luck Bootsy. There's also You Know What's Bullshit, about a man with bull feces for a face who talks about minor things that irritate him. There's also James and Mike Mondays, where James and Mike play and discuss a random video game and unlike AVGN, the game can be good like Metal Slug or bad like Sonic 06.

James is a great at reviewing films and even reviews 31 horror films on Halloween, which is called Cinemassacre's Monster Madness.

James also posts short films he has made over the course of his life. I've only seen Wizard of Oz 3, which made me laugh.

In addition, Mike Matei has posted his own game reviews. Several people on YouTube have insulted Mike Matei stating they only want the Nerd, but honestly I like Mike, he's funny and a talented gamer as skilled as James himself. I honestly don't see why he gets so much hate.

Note: This is the only time I will swear on this site.moreless
  • This guy is a star

Rolfe, AKA The Angry Video Game Nerd, proves he doesn't need to be funny or cuss to be entertaining. A true film fan, great reviews, and managed to not only bring surprising perspective to a classic but showcase stuff I didn't know about.
  • Top 10 Top 10 lists

Quite the funny review/info show, still holds its own after being off there indie airwaves for a while. Hilarious Top 10 lists.
