Drunk History

Show Summary

Drunk History is a web series on Funny Or Die created by Derek Waters and directed by Jeremy Konner, in which drunk people re-tell significant historic events, which are shown re-enacted by professional actors dressed in period costume, including Jack Black, Michael Cera, Danny McBride, and Don Cheadle, among others. The re-telling often includes profanity, drunken slurring, and hiccups, and the person narrates what's happening in the re-enactment. The re-enactment also follows the drunk person's synopsis exactly so sometimes the historical figures dialogue is unusual and comical. Some of the historical events covered have been about Abraham Lincoln and Fredrick Douglass discussion of slavery, the story of Alexander Hamilton's duel with Aaron Burr, ninth president William Henry Harrison, Nikola Tesla, a significant figure in the history of technology, sailing to America to meet Thomas Edison, and Ben Franklin discovering electricity. The series is now featured on HBO's comedy sketch show, Funny Or Die Presents.
