Edge of Existence

Show Summary

Edge of Existence from Acorn Media Group, is a breathtakingly beautiful documentary that allows us a glimpse into the real world existence of four remote indigenous peoples. Donal MacIntyre hosts this unforgettable trek that takes us to four rarely visited locations and then documents the daily living of its people. Spending time with The Bedouin, who for thousands of years have chosen to live in the Sahara Desert even with its extremely harsh climate. MacIntyre searches the seas off Malaysia looking for the Bajau Laut, a people with no country of their own and which choose to live exclusively on their boats traveling and looking for food. He travels to Calichan in Bolivia to meet with the Quechuan Indians who make a living from the salt mines. He also spends time with the Insect Tribe of New Guinea, who is only one generation from its cannibalistic past. These sojourns give us a view of life far removed from our hustle and bustle. It is as educational as it is entertaining.
