Grasping for the Wind is a seven part series hosted by John Whitehead, and winner of the New York festival's World Medal, about how American culture and its worldview has evolved over the last 200 years. With its title deriving from the famous quote from the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes, Grasping for the Wind shows how our culture has become one of a desperate search for meaning. It surveys the great thinkers of the Enlightenment and Romantic era, explores how culture and technology intertwine, how American youth have become disillusioned with Western Capitalism, how the addiction rates of drugs, sex, and alcohol have skyrocketed, how traditional values are rebelled against, and where all of this chaos is leading. Grasping for the Wind educates those who care about the problems America is facing about what causes them and what can be done to solve them. Total runtime is three hours and forty-one minutes.
