Enormous Ferguson:

In the Romanian dub of the episode Air Bravo, the character of Enormous Ferguson was re-named "Uriasul Muresan" (translated as "Muresan the Giant"), and his team, the Pogatuck Ferrets was called "Farul" (translated as "The Lighthouse"); both these changes were made to make him similar to the Romanian basketball player Gheorghe "Ghita" Muresan (born in 1971), now retired. At 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m), he is tied with Sudanese player Manute Bol as the tallest man to ever play in the NBA.

However, he never played for a basketball team called "Farul".

This same plot twist was used in a Pink Panther animated short, Pink of the Litter, from 1967.

In the episode Air Bravo, the whistling music that plays while Johnny plays basketball, is supposed to be a parody of the music used by the exhibition basketball team, the Harlem Globetrotters.

In the episode Air Bravo, the character of Enormous Ferguson is a parody of real-life American professional basketball player, Michael Jordan.

Funky Monkey: Song

The song Suzie wrote, Funky Monkey, seems smiliar to Ogee's perception of Magilla in the Hanna-Barbera classic The Magilla Gorilla Show, which aired between 1964 and 1967.
