The trailer for the documentary "Walking in Darkness" shot and directed by Myles Kwesi Hutchful in association with the United Nations Refugee Agency. It will be released in February 2012. I was inspired to shoot Walking in Darkness to honor the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homeland under threat of persecution, conflict and violence. According to the United Nations Refugee Agency, the number of displaced people and unaccompanied child refugees in the world is currently at a 15 year high. The documentary features intimate interviews with mothers, fathers and children from Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, LIberia, Togo & Ivory Coast living in an isolated refugee camp in Southwestern Ghana. Through this documentary, I hope to raise funds and awareness for refugee camps in Africa to combat the darkness and desperate conditions that exist there. This trailer includes a collection of intimate moments right before I interviewed refugees for the documentary. Moments of thought, contemplation and vulnerability as these refugees prepared to talk about buried memories of past traumatic experiences, lost loved ones and lost hopes. The documentary is dedicated to Joseph Chad Hill, a dear friend of 8 years, who assisted me with this project and whom I lost to Malaria a month after shooting this documentary. Rest in peace, Joe. My Love for you is eternal.?? Shot, Directed & Edited by Myles Kwesi Hutchful [Kwesi InLight?] Assisted by Joseph Chad Hill?
