Kristof is an op-ed columnist, journalist, and author, who has been writing an op-ed column for The New York Times since November 2001, often writing about human rights issues in Asia and Africa. His column has brought to light abuse like human trafficking and the Darfur conflict, showing the issues in the widely read newspaper. He has reported on six continents while traveling to every state and 150 countries. Taking on risks like malaria, war, mobs, and even surviving a plane crash in Africa, Kristof will do anything to get the stories, and he has even been called "the Indiana Jones of our generation of journalists" by The New Yorker's Jeffrey Toobin.
