Childrens Hospital is a comedy series that began as a web show on TheWB.com and now airs on Adult Swim. This is the web show season that led to the Adult Swim hit. The show centers around the lives of a group of hospital workers in Childrens Hospital, a hospital for kids named after a Dr. Childrens. The series was created by Rob Corddry, who also stars as Dr. Blake Downs, a doctor who believes that laughter heals better than medicine and often wears clown makeup around the hospital. His staff includes Dr. Cat Black (Lake Bell), Dr. Glenn Ritchie (Ken Marino), Dr. Owen Maestro (Rob Huebel), The Chief (Megan Mullally), who walks around on two crutches, Dr. Lola Spratt (Erin Hayes), and Dr. Valerie Flame (Malin Akerman). Henry Winkler also stars as Sy Mittleman. Recurring guest stars include Michael Cera and Ed Helms. The doctors of Childrens Hospital often seem to care more about making out with each other than helping the sick children under their care, and most of the episodes focus on their zany antics than the diseases they are trying to cure. Childrens Hospital is a parody of popular medical dramas, such as ER, Grey's Anatomy, and Private Practice. The show originally aired as a web original on TheWB.com, but was picked up by Adult Swim in 2009.moreless

    Shoetube (ended 2003)
Welcome to the Shop Til' You Drop guide at TV.com. What do you get when you combine The Price is Right with Beat the Clock? A hybrid game show called Shop Til' You Drop, a durable game show where contestants compete in stunts and are tested on their consumer knowledge. From 1991 to 2003, STYD was situated in a two-tiered California shopping mall (not unlike the Mall of America); 2003 and later in a mega-store (think Sam's Club or Wal-Mart). Two teams of male-female couples (it could also be two teams of brothers or sisters, too) competed. Each team plays two rounds of games, which centered on pricing items (not unlike The Price is Right), celebrity trivia or performing a silly stunt. Before each round, the host (or his sidekick) described the first stunt to one of the teams, and they decided who would play it. Successfully completing a stunt earns the team points (100 in Round 1, 200 in Round 2) and the right to select a prize from one of the stores in the mall (or, in later episodes, from one of the store's departments). One of the prizes hid the "Shopper's Special," which if selected earned the team a bonus prize (always a trip). Round 3 was the "Shopper's Challenge," a 90-second speed round of questions about entertainment and shopping. Each team member alternated answering questions (the men and then the women). Correct answers were worth 50 points. The team with the highest score after three rounds advanced to the bonus round. The bonus round was a shopping-spree type round. One of the team members was the shopper (usually but not always the female) while the male half was the runner. One at a time, the team opened one of six packages on a table. The shopper decided whether to keep the gift or beckon the runner to exchange it. If they wanted to exchange the item, the runner scurried like the dickens to one of the stores (or departments in the superstore episodes) and exchange it for what the team hoped was a better gift. In either case, the runner had to take the item to a table on one side of the set and hit a plunger before the shopper could open another box. After all six boxes were kept or exchanged, or after the 90-second time limit expired, the host announced the values of each prize, one by one. The team kept whatever they collected, but if the prizes' value was $2,500 or more ($1,000 in 1991-1992), the couple won a vacation. For the first 12 years STYD was on (and off) the air, Pat Finn was the host, with Dee Baker his wacky sidekick. When the series returned in 2003 (with the new superstore setup), J.D. Roberto was the host and Don Preiss did the annoucing. Sexual Intercourse: American Style was a web series created by Mitch Magee and aired on Channel 101: NY. An early hit for the web-based channel, there are seven episodes, each a few minutes long, presented like comedy sketches, plus a "season finale" special. Despite the evocative name, there is no nudity, only some crude language that some viewers may find objectionable. The series focuses on two couples: Clark (Will Hines), Beth (Eliza Skinner), Fran (Julie Klausner), and Tom (Matthieu Cornillon), although none really stand out from the others. There are also several one-time characters. The overall theme is of dark comedy, often starting with something seemingly straightforward and innocent, and then completely changing direction. For example, one episode features the four main characters covered in balloons, eager to pop them one by one to show their nakedness underneath, only to begin mourning the meaninglessness of life. Fans of Kids in the Hall and Human Giant should find this series to their liking. The series was produced by Upright Citizens Brigade.moreless

In Coldest Blood is the chilling video documentary telling the story of the murder of 16 year old Cassie Jo Stoddart. Stoddart attended Pocatello High School in Portatello, Idaho and was brutally stabbed and killed by Brian Draper and Torey Adamcik who were her classmates from school. Aside from the murder itself, the most unsettling detail of the crime is the fact that the two boys captured on video their planning sessions for committing the murder along with their pleasure at following through on their deadly plot. The documentary was produced and aired on MSNBC in 2010 and uses courtroom footage interspersed with actual video recorded footage of the two murders as they spoke in detail about their plot to kill not only Stoddard, but her boyfriend. The documentary also includes interviews with the victim's mother, police detectives, and the prosecutor sharing their perspectives on the crime. The documentary follows the two perpetrator's trials as they were both tried as adults for their crimes and culminates with their trial's ultimate outcomes.moreless

Started in 2007, the duo is featured in short improvisational skits on the CollegeHumor website. The characters of Jake and Amir are caricatures of their real-life personas, Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld. The two play on each other's personality, with Jake acting as the stalwart logical counterpart to Amir's outrageous actions and often-nonsensical dialogue. Amir is a lot more enthusiastic their special 'friendship' than Jake, who is forced into the relationship because of the proximity of their desks.
