LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions is a online video series featuring live performances by independent bands and solo artists. Craig "Dodge" Lile and Jeff DuPont lit the fire for the peculiar music site LaundroMatinee.com back in 2006, with audio recordings of various independent bands, starting with their initial capture of a performance from Catfish Haven. Somewhere along the line they enlisted videographer Tim Wilsbach to film the sessions, and from there the project began to take serious shape. The first band to be featured in LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions was Bon Iver, and since putting the show online in 2008, word has spread that Lile and DuPont have a pretty cool little show on their hands. Seeking out original and unique musicians, the sessions showcase talent, and while being mainstream is certainly not at all a requirement, bands like The Dandy Warhols have joined emerging groups like The Young Republic and Ben Sollee to fill out an enigmatic lineup. The site has interviews and blogs that keep users in touch and informed, but the real draw here is the performances. Very special, and very good, LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions are a must see for fans of independent music.moreless

Hope is Emo is a comedy podcast, starring MADtv's Crista Flanigan, that follows the life of a depressed emo girl named Hope. With dark eyeliner and jet black hair, Hope gives off the image of someone with a lot of teenage angst and depressive tendencies. She also has a tendency to overthink as expressed in the debut episode when she is talking to her listeners and tells them that it bothers her when people delete or erase words after typing them. Thinking there is a zinger of some sort coming, she remains straight-faced and you realize she is being serious. To bring that point home, she holds up an urn where she keeps chalk dust from words that have been erased on the board at school. Other issues Hope covers in the series include the duty of freshman and sophomores to stay away from prom, hating gym class and problems with girls at school. Flanigan's goal with the series was to satirize some of the problems that teenagers face in a humorous way that all could relate to.moreless

Norabbits' Minutes is an animated show that follows rabbits Nora and Mini through their daily lives and activities. Using stop-motion animation, Nora and Mini's thoughts are expressed using animated speech bubbles filled with pictures of what they are saying rather than actual text, and no dialogue is spoken throughout the show. The speech of characters is instead represented by different sounds, namely a high-pitched squeak for Mini and a lower whistle for Nora. Nora tends to be the more level-headed and responsible rabbit, while Mini is more hyperactive and impulsive. The only other characters on the show are a pair of carrots who stop by to visit the rabbits, sometimes with disastrous results. Created by the Japanese studio I.Toon as one of the projects celebrating the 110th anniversary of movie studio Shochiku Co., Ltd., Norabbits' Minutes features five episodes, each with a run time of about three minutes, paying homage to the animated shorts that once played before films.moreless
