Pioneers of the Spirit

Show Summary

Pioneers of the Spirit is a documentary series produced by Vision Video about men and women of God throughout the ages. Specifically, those who have stood up for their beliefs and searched everywhere they could for signs of divinity. Each episode runs for half an hour and focuses on a particular man or woman from the history of the church. Some examples are Hildegard of Bingen, a German nun whose writings have earned her the title of Renaissance woman, and Saint Augustine of Hippo, whose brilliant "confessions" have touched the lives of Christians for more than fifteen hundred years. Another is Dante Alighieri, whose famous work "The Divine Comedy" about Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell, has excited the imaginations of readers for centuries. These are just a few of the figures covered in this exciting series. Anyone with an interest in the history of the Christian church will find something to like with Pioneers of the Spirit.
