Psych: Flashback to the Teen Years is a criminal comedy web-series shorts based on the Psych TV series created by Steve Franks that centers on a young crime consultant who helps the Santa Barbara Police Department utilizing his 'psychic' abilities to solve cases with the help of his highly patient best friend. While Psych follows the pair as working adults, Psych: Flashback to the Teen Years focuses on the hilarious duo of Shawn Spencer (Jake Borelli) and Burton 'Gus' Guster (Dalpre Grayer) before they grew up to be the exasperating pop-culture spouting observer and the serious straight man. Everyone knows of the quirkiness of their older forms but learn of what it was like for the teenaged versions as Shawn puts the finishing touches on a homemade hair gel with its special ingredients of ethanol and jelly and Gus tries to stop Shawn from using his name at the job fair.
