Show Summary

Reset is the Sundance Channel series of shorts which show human behavior through the eyes of trying to help computers understand it. Sundance Channel launched in 1996, a network devoted to independent film, wold cinema, documentaries and more. In their series of live-action shorts Reset, Sundance explores the relationships between computers and people. Human behavior is complex, nuanced, at times beautiful, and at times ugly. We think that we know how we work, what we think, and why we do what we do, but is it that simple? Computers' way of thinking seems much different than ours, with their processes, bits and bytes running in a clinical, systematic way. Is it possible to make them understand how we work? These films were created to help try to accomplish just that. Examining feelings, emotions, sensations and concepts in short abstract films, Sundance tries to reduce these complex human behaviors into something a computer can digest. See these beautiful shorts about friendship, desire, vision, humor, fantasy, sound, energy, scent, community, movement, and silence in the Sundance Channel series Reset.
