Europeans Find Cool Ways to Chill Out in Summer's Record Heat
AIRED:
Sunbathers gather on the banks of the Seine river to chill out on what's called "Paris Plage." It's an artificial beach for Parisians who can't make it to the beach, or "plage" in French, to cool off from record high temperatures. But the heat wave hitting France and Belgium, and other parts of Europe isn't breaking thermometers. Brussels roasted in 1947 with a record 38.8 degrees Celsius, or more than 101 degrees fahrenheit. Regardless, kids flocked to water water fountains to cool off.moreless
