Mel Brooks, whose comedy credits include "The Producers" and "Young Frankenstein," received the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award in Los Angeles. The 86-year-old's six-decade career began as a drummer and stand-up comedian in upstate New York. He is only one of 11 people to win all four major awards, which include four Emmys, three Grammys, three Tonys and an Oscar.
