Film critic Richard Roeper reviews the newest theatrical release movies on Starz channel, a partnership that began in 2009. Roeper's career has brought him from the Chicago Sun Times to TV after he famously joined Roger Ebert on his nationally syndicated movie review show as a permanent replacement co-host for the late Gene Siskel. Ebert and Roeper's partnership lasted from 2002 until Ebert's medical issues forced him to retire in 2006. Roeper continued the show on his own through 2008 before moving on to new partnerships with Starz and ReelzChannel, noticeably abandoning the trademark thumbs up/thumbs down reviews made famous by Siskel and Ebert's program. Roeper has also embraced social media with regular updates to his twitter account, iPhone application, and personal blog, often including impromptu reviews of movies as he leaves a theater. He has even weighed in on the occasional television show such as the widely discussed series finale of Lost, coming out with a very positive A+.
