Show Summary

Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Festival of Animation is a world famous festival of alternative animation that began in 1977. It was founded by Craig 'Spike' Decker and Mike Gribble. It promotes and distributes animated shorts while raising its own funding to create 35 mm prints to project. The festivals have included the US theatrical premieres of 'Beavis and Butthead,' 'Wallace and Gromit' as well as the first films of such directors as Andrew Stanton, Bill Plympton, Shane Acker, John Lasseter, Tim Burton, Pete Docter and Brad Bird. Smaller versions of the festival have been shown at San Diego International Comic Con, the Cannes Film Festival, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and Sundance. They have also screened works in college campuses, as well as the Winter X Games, the Vans Warped Tours and even the band Korn. They are always searching for the next, great, new gross out animation and allow independent animators to submit their works online through their new website.
