Spinal Tap

Show Summary

Spinal Tap is a series of promotional interviews made in 2009, just before the launch of the band's "Back from the Dead" album. The release marks the band's return from an almost twenty-year vacation. The web series also commemorates the twenty-fifth anniversary of Spinal Tap's cult film, "This is Spinal Tap." Band members David St. Hubbins (aka Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (aka Christopher Guest) and Derek Smalls (aka Harry Shearer) talk about why they decided to reunite in an eleven-part short clip series. Nigel tells viewers how the devil spoke to him in his dreams during "Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare Part II." Derek explains to the audience the meaning of a chocolate baby in the clip, "Gimme Some Money." The band then does a short clip promoting their new short film, "Stonehenge: 'Tis a Magic Place." Nigel and David then grab their guitars to play a short intro in the clip, "Warmer Than Hell," a song where Nigel blames the devil for global warming. Spinal Tap continues on with more outrageous claims throughout the rest of the series.
