The Darkness Descending explores a city hidden beneath a city. Filmmaker and student Chelsea Henderson ventures below the surface of New York City to explore the maze of subway tunnels and caves that some people call home. Forgotten by the world above, these characters share their stories of tragedy and loss with Henderson and her web audience. The series began Oct. 22, 2009 with the episode Redemption. Former NYPD Officer Jake Armstrong (Frank Krueger) once patrolled these tunnels as part of his beat. He knew of the dangerous situations that were part of the everyday life of the homeless living below the streets. When he too experienced a traumatic loss, he left his life above and set up a make-shift home among those he once policed. In the underworld, nothing is what it seems and danger lies around every corner. The series has completed season one, which includes five episodes, and work has begun on a second season. The series is also the basis for a feature film under development by Blue Dragon Entertainment.moreless
