The Frugal Traveler

The Frugal Traveler is a web series from The New York Times (NYT) travel blogger Matt Gross as he chronicles the way to travel the world on a budget. Matt Gross wants to show that you can eat cheaply, sleep cheaply, and still do it in style. The episodes focus on local fare and events in each city that stray from the usual tourist spots. The Frugal Traveler also is sure to meet some of the locals for tips and to get a local's perspective on the city. The guides cover logistical items like traveling in the city as well. Many of the episodes are taken from long trips, such as Gross' 13-week trip through Europe and his trip up the Pacific Coast.
