The Home Front

Show Summary

The Home Front is an episodic series about a group of women who are struggling with the difficulties of having loved ones serving in the Iraq war. The Iraq War is also known as the Occupation of Iraq and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the military campaign began on March 20, 2003. The war has been a controversial one, sending around 300,000 troops to the country in 2003 and 2004, and with 50,000 still stationed there. With over 4,000 U.S. troops losing their lives and over 32,000 wounded, the war has taken it's toll on our troops. Often coming home with debilitating injuries or even worse, their lives are almost never the same. The troops aren't the only ones suffering through the occupation, as family has been left to worry while they are stationed overseas. Whether it is wives with no husbands to help support them, children with no father around as they grow up, or parents worrying about their children, the war has taken it's toll on the families on our shores as well. Now The Home Front joins these family members for their sides of the story. See them at home as they deal with missing key components of their families, while dealing with the worry of having a loved one in the dangerous conflict.
